Thanks for sharing! It is good to see home bred Lemon tetras as most are now imported from Asia. Did you notice whether adults feed on their eggs (I know you had a divider)? I've noticed other small tetras won't feed on their eggs, larvae.
With the Lemon Tetras I have to cover the front glass so they feel safe enough to spawn as my fish room is very small and I’m busy doing water changes every morning. I have to do this with many spawnings, not just tetras, otherwise the fish are too nervous to breed. I simply check the spawning tanks late afternoon to see if there are any eggs under the spawning grill. Interesting that you haven’t noticed that small tetras won’t feed on their eggs?
The adults are only in the tank for 2 to 3 days and are not fed during this period. As the fry are growing regular partial water changes are carried out with any mulm being siphoned off the tank bottom. The water is replaced with water with higher pH, KH and GH - in small amounts to begin with…
