    I made the mistake of looking through the comments for whatever reason, and I just... Some of these questions.... You either answered them in this very same video, or told them where to go, again, in this very video. Sigh... Anyway... Your videos are all incredibly helpful and amazing. You're so intelligent and educated and don't muck about, getting straight to the point. You're a great person, and I'm very grateful to have stumbled upon your RUclips channel. Thank you for the awesome content.

    I can't wait to get a snake and get them into a bioactive setup! I'm thinking about doing a bioactive playpen for my mice as well, both from the biodude. If only bioactive litter boxes were a thing 😂

    It would've been easier to moisten your substrate first, mix the moss, then add the cultures. But this looks great. 👍

      @HappyTailsAnimals  7 лет назад +2

      +Shonna Nelson Williams it really depends on the person, it doesn't really matter which steps you do first

      Happy Tails Yes I agree. Just makes mixing a bit easier. Regardless it will mix itself within time.

    All these people telling her "it's a dessert lizard, why make a jungle environment", have you ever been to a dessert. It's not just sand dunes. First do real research before making dumb comments, she did (almost) everything the right way.
    The tank should be a lot bigger for that size beardy, they need way more room. Also if you fill your tank with the soil , leafs and al the other materials, moisterize it and mix it up before you put it in the tank. It will be much better for your plants and for your isopots. And use some uvb light for your beardy. For all the rest, good job Happy Tails.

      how does the substrate/isopods/spirngtails work with the heat lamps and or humidity levels ? I'm looking to set up a bearded dragon bio active enclosure yes i have done a lot of research - but somethings just require asking questions and or experiance). Bio dude does not ship to Canada here - So i'm making my own substrate from a recipe i found on a bearded dragon forum. but I'm hearing mix reviews that the isopods and spring tails wont survive due the the low humidity levels the dragon requires. And what is the humidity level you keep a bearded dragon enclosure at WITH isopods and springtails. normally 30% for dragon but that's with no bio active substrate that needs moisture. so the enclosure should have what humidity level to sustain both the clean up crew and dragon happily ? Thanks

    Just a quick suggestion before putting soil down you may want to add a drainage layer so there is an area for the water to go down into and not drown anything

    • @HappyTailsAnimals
      @HappyTailsAnimals  5 лет назад +1

      The whole reason you want to use Biodude is because, as I said in the video, no drainage layer is needed.

    I didn't see this addressed in the video so figured I'd ask. While it's obvious that the heat lamp will keep the humidity down in the tank, do you still mist the cage (daily?) to ensure the soil retains moisture for the clean-up crew? Or just the periodic watering around the plants like once a week is enough for the entire enclosure?

      You should know a horse diet video before you even consider getting a horse. Horses aren't just any pet. You can't just decide you want one then buy one the next month. You are gonna end up selling it because it's too much work and too much money. At least have about 5 years in the equine before you get a horse. I've been riding my entire life and I just got my first horse

    So my sister got me a baby beardie and she said that they told her not to put any fake plants in the Tank with them or they will mistake it for their food. Is that true?

      Both of my beardies do fine with them, I would just try it out and see. One of mine did try eating a fake leaf when I first put them in the tank but stopped after it realized it wasn't food. They both still eat their vegetable and fruits they just avoid eating the fake ones.
