    I've just sold my GSA 1250 and my 1200 R to buy a R1250RT triple black. Pick it up next week... and I can't wait 🙂

    You are spot on everything. I'm a harley guy but bought a rt last yr. Most comfortable bike I've ever been on and that boxer engine is absolutely great.

    Nice vid. I've got a '22 RT triple black, and it's easily the best bike I've owned. Hard to fault it, but I wanted to see if the K1600 had anything else to offer over and above the RT. The guys at Bahnstormer Alton (UK) had my bike to remedy a broken pressure sensor in the front wheel (not the fault of the bike, the guys at the tyre place I use trashed it when putting a new front tyre on!) and they lent me their demo K1600 for the weekend. OMG. I was so pleased to return it and get the RT back. The 1600 is a great bike for sure, but it's nothing like as nimble, doesn't feel any quicker than the RT, and my wife said she was being buffeted far more than on the RT. Also, I noticed that the K1600 suffers more from motorway sidewinds - nothing dangerous, but noticeable none the less. It uses more fuel than the boxer - I was getting 42 - 47 mpg on the K, compared to 55-60 on the RT. (Note to you lovely people in the US - the UK gallon is bigger than a US gallon for some reason).
    One vid I saw on RUclips noted that this bike is a bike you can forget about while you're driving it - meaning that it simply does everything so well, that all you have to do is ride. Handling is stunning, loads of beans when you rev past the shiftcam point - 4500rpm - and it doesn't vibrate so much as throb. And we all like a bit of throbbing, huh?
    Keep on biking

    Very good review. Sometimes RUclips reviewers are just complaining to complain. They want no vibration, no wind and no noise. For that just get in your car. 😂. They forget they're on a motorcycle. All those things is what make bikes fun. I hv a 21 bmw s1000xr with about 15k on the clock. In a couple of years I'll be ready for another bike and will certainly consider an RT 1250/1300.

    Great review thanks. I run a 2018 RT which I bought used its just passed 40k miles with no issues other than servicing and tyres. Since the 1250 was introduced the earlier 1200 has became relatively affordable. Appreciate your bike is the later model which I’ll likely trade up to in a year or two. These are just such an amazing bike 👍

    This is a great review. Thanks for the detail. Currently, I am riding a 2009 K1300GT and I just passed 108K miles. Before this one, I had a 2007 K1200GT which had 130K before I sold it. So, clearly , I. like to ride. A lot. I've been eyeing the R1250RT and it looks like an amazing machine. The K1600 is just too big and heavy and I believe the maintenance costs are going to be too much. It's just that the R1250RT is so much money. When the time comes to get a new bike, I'll be looking at used ones as well as new. Thanks again.

    I bought a GSA last year. Sat on a new RT at the dealer yesterday and wow - it was a perfect fit. I need to test ride one. If it’s as good as it looks, I can see getting rid of 2 bikes and having just the RT. Love the boxer on the GSA.

      See if a local dealer has one that you can test ride. I really wish I had test rode one a long time ago. I rode 12 hours one day a combination of interstate and backroads. Having all of that wind protection, the adjustable windshield, smooth ride, and some music to listen to was great. Let me know what happens! Ride safe!

    Nice review. I've got the 2018 model decked out just like yours. Just a phenomenal bike. Also have a 2017 T120 Black and it's starting to collect dusk in the garage as the RT is such a great bike to ride. If you plan on putting 100K on the bike, my only recommendation is to not wait on upgrading the seat to a Russell Day Long. I too am 5'8" and started with the stock low seat, then to a Sargent, and when I got the RDL last year it was transformative for long days in the saddle. Made Life a Ride!

      I was looking at those seats recently. I may give it a try. I rode 1400 miles in 4 days a week a ago. On the last day my back side was getting a little tender lol

    Hi there from Scotland! Nice common sense review on the RT as a mile muncher. Well done Fella. I have a 2022 in blue. Totally agree about the people moaning about the four pre programme buttons. Get over it and just enjoy the ride. Thanks for sharing the vid.
    Stay safe.

    Just want to say that you did a good job with the review. I felt like I was riding along with you the whole way and just sitting back talking about the bike. You'd probably make a good radio DJ or documentary narrator as well. It comes natural to some people. Anyways, I'm still riding Harleys but I'm liking these BMW's.

    I had one question. New RT the headlight. I am using my RT from 2012 often at night. Driving to and from work. So how good are lights comparing to previous RTs?

    • @thedirtyguzzi9268
      @thedirtyguzzi9268  Год назад +1

      Never had the previous models but the lights on this model are good at night.

    • @andrewclark9499
      @andrewclark9499 Месяц назад +1

      I've got a 2008 RT and a '22 RT. The lights on the 2008 one are OK - just - but the 1250's LED lights are mental. the way the cutoff in dip stays horizontal regardless of lean angle, the adaptive throw that peeks round the corner as you negotiate a bend, and the fierceness of the beam, makes riding at night easy peasy. However, if you're slow in flicking off the main beam when a vehicle approaches going the other way means you've burnt their retinas out. The RT has 9 front lamps - two spots, two daytime lights and 5 main lights.

    Just watched the review..awesome job thx…question on the BMW navigation via phone in the turn by turn mode: once you select a destination, start riding then 1/2 way into the destination you lose phone service…does the navigation stop working?? Or does it is have a memory to finish the trip till ya get reception again and arrive at the destination??. I have a white 2017 R1200RT and love it, zero complaints…I read so many negatives on the newer models with the TFT dash for connectivity and software issues. My concern if I ever decide to upgrade to a newer RT. I often ride in the PA Mountains where there is limited cell service in many areas-love my GPS!! Ride safe.

    • @thedirtyguzzi9268
      @thedirtyguzzi9268  Год назад

      It keeps the route if you lose reception. I wish they would have made it an actual gps. Thats why I decided to install the ball mount for the TomTom. I never really used the large map screen. It's a big distraction. Ride safe.

    Great review but regarding the phone -if you use an android it connects to nav and displays maps automatically - the iphone has very poor connectivity issues. Its worse on the K16 due to the location of the phone storage but BMW are aware and looking into this. Cheers Ride safe👍🏻

    • @thedirtyguzzi9268
      @thedirtyguzzi9268  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the info. Yeah I heard that the android connects better. I use the turn by turn instructions most of the time. I use my tomtom when I go on longer trips in poor cell reception areas.

      I’m considering this bike and an apple user.. is this a big enough deal to consider other bikes or is this definitely the right bike with or without the phone connectivity issues?

    • @22Royston
      @22Royston Год назад +1

      @@dannygill3943 I have a K16, the issue is more pronounced on that bike but even then not enough to not buy one - it’s a fantastic machine. The Android phone performs very well on the RT and connects automatically- there is also a work around to get it to function correctly on the K series- so deffo get the bike and a non sim cheap second hand Android for the RT and enjoy 👍🏻

    • @thedirtyguzzi9268
      @thedirtyguzzi9268  Год назад +1

      @@dannygill3943 I wouldn't let the phone connectivity issue keep you from purchasing the bike. It's a great bike. You can do any type of street riding you want. Its stable on the highway also. The weather protection is awesome. I never really use the full map mode. The bluetooth turn by turn works great and uses less battery and lets me keep my main phone in my pocket. That giant map is a big distraction in my opinion. All other connectivity such as music from your phone and cardo work great.
