This is such a beautiful performance. I found the sheet for this piece in one of my books and it looked like a lot of fun, so I looked it up. This gives me major inspiration to learn it :) People often think Baroque music has no soul, but this video proves otherwise
Her playing is so clear and exact, the changes in dynamics so natural bringing a liveliness. The playfulness and humor of Scarlatti is in clear evidence. This is so wonderful to listen to. I thought Pogorelich was the best at playing Scarlatti's sonatas but after hearing Ms. Clementi's playing, I think her playing is certainly equal to his.
Complimenti vivissimi. ciao.
You play it beautifully!I love Scarlatti. What fingering do you use for those fast repeated notes? I find them the most difficult part of this piece. Not so difficult on a harpsichord maybe; but on a piano I just can't do it.
I liked this very much Maria. Assume you must be Italian whether or not you're related to Muzio :) Visually, I like the change of scene but the camera changes the shots too frequently I think. Lovely sparking repeated notes and trills!
videographers like to interfere, valentina had the same issue but i believe it was remedied . Neither Scarlatti or this excellent pianist need help from camera work.
Do you perceive "technical fatigue" in her? Seriously? Why don't you try to play this piece yourself and put it on RUclips? Then everyone will laugh reading the comments. As for Cziffra, we all appreciate and love him, of course, but Maria Clementi performs this particular Scarlatti sonata better than he does. In fact, much better.
Simply stunning, Ms Clementi. Such an amazing interpretation. I have not heard a better rendition in 30 years.
This is an excellent interpretation. Very crisp and clear and just great all around.
Excellent interpretation and splendid instrument, marvellous steinway
Brilliant playing and musicianship Many Thanks

That Steinway has a beautiful bass.

Just divine. The best interpretation of this sonata I have heard. Grazie!
Straight to the point: Domenico Scarlatti is my favorite composer from Baroque Era.
So brilliant. So beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful! Excellent.

Brilliant technically clearness. Grazie mille!

she stuns me , in december 2020
Really great! One of my favourite Scarlatti pieces played just the way I like it.
Saludos!
Spectacular energy and spirit. That great energy, spirit and technique makes me think of Gould. So well done.
🥰😍 Majestueuse performent ❤❤❤
This is my favorite version of K96, the best in my opinion.

Ciao Giorgio, grazie! Presto carichiamo altre esecuzioni, passa a trovarmi :)
What an achievement. Amazing -such perfect control of every note, even with the heavy keys. You convinced me that Scarlatti can sound good on Piano.
everything can sound good on piano.
Wow shes amazing!!
What a wonderful world, where a man from 300 years ago is reaching out to play with us.
Too sexual
SPLENDID INTERPRETATION!
In love the look she makes after her performance. At 5:08 - Very funny!
I have rarely seen a woman play Scarlatti like that. Love her!
Bellissimo suono.

I played Scarlatti for a long time and I use 321321 to play the repeated notes😊
I use 1212121...
I usually prefer harpsichord, but this is an excellent interpretation!
Brava!
His great great granddaughter

Hi David, thank you :)
videographers like to interfere, valentina had the same issue but i believe it was remedied . Neither Scarlatti or this excellent pianist need help from camera work.
Better than all the others (including Horowitz and Cziffra). Well done lady!
I agree.
Clementi playing Scarlatti...
very nice! are you related in some way to Muzio Clementi?
Hi, we both are from middle of Italy, maybe but not sure about it
You're My Heroine That's weird.
I wish the video were less jumpy to better enjoy the gutsy performance.
Quanto sei brava?!?!😯😯😯
does she ever lay that on the listener! Nobody else even comes close !
Still, we need 97K likes to match the number!
*96
accidenti, come suona!
nasty look at the end :)
Wonderful playing. Terribly distracting camerawork.
Brilliant - but let's not get all American Bach over this!

Can't stand this sonata anymore omg...it's bubbly and overplayed. Great playing tho..
