I had a campervan named Morrison. It was a high top Dodge Ram that I remodeled myself. I mostly took it on camping and hiking adventures all over the PNW. Every now and then I'd go party in Seattle or Portland with a friend and stay in it overnight. The key to getting some sleep is to just be completely trashed. 😂 Get drunk and stoned and nothing will disturb you. 😂
I watched this five months ago and then came back after I heard that nyc impounded 8 vans listed on Airbnb .. they mentioned they were tipped off by RUclips videos about these vans I wonder if it was this
Apparently it was multiple videos and they had an ongoing investigation and this video ruclips.net/video/8pwB18GcNq8/видео.html being the main one they talked about lol
I'm in NYC and have been considering trying van life for the summer/fall and traveling around the country, so if anyone wants to rent out my room, HMU! Hahahah. Super excited for this video though!
Me and my family (me , my wife, 4 years old son and 10 years old girl) are going to drive thru USA this year for Van trip :) - starting from NYC... We are from Poland. We hope it will be possible ! for You and Us ! :) Love from Poland !
Quick tip for driving across country in a van. Do it in fall or spring because summer is brutal in a van/truck. I used to drive trucks around the country for a living and sleeping in the truck middle of summer was brutal without AC. Unless you plan on keeping the van on during the night while sleeping which you’ll wake up with an empty gas tank every morning lol. Plus it’s beautiful to see the states In fall. Just my advice my dude!
I've lived out of a van in Europe for around 7 years now. Not out of choice at first but It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I bought a house with the money I saved but I hated it. I was back to the van within 6 months 😅. Not sure I could hack it in new York city though
Brett you would be awesome driving around meeting other u-tube people. Living life, but try to get a Sprinter van, comes with a bathroom shower small cooking area. I can't wait.
Grew up in Westchester. Have been Vanlifing out west in CA for years. Worked in NYC for years. This, I gotta see. Oh, It's an Air BnB? NYC has a no sleeping overnight in a vehicle ordinance. Like 80%+ of cities in the U.S. It's just an infraction. You tell the cops you'll move, and they let you slide 95% of the time. You don't park in residential areas because Karens will complain (property values). If you said to the cops (who will inevitably knock on your door) your working and you used to live on the street and you can't go back, they could let you slide in the city these days, possibly. Especially if you bounce between Boroughs. One dude had a converted school bus (Buslife) that he parked under the subway in the Bronx. Cops couldn't fine and impound because it was still registered as a schoolbus!
🤔 don’t understand.Yes Every state is different but for the most part when your inside establishments you have to wear your mask. But majority of Americans don’t wear mask outside it’s kind of stupid.
Maybe they are vaccinated? In NYC everyone over age 16 has been eligible for the COVID vaccine since early April. And the CDC guidelines state that vaccinated people can hang out with other vaccinated people indoors without masks on.
I'm thinking we crossed paths in Phuket a couple years ago, on Bangla Rd, Patong as when I started watching your content I recognised you and knew you were from the US before you spoke. I was ahem helping in a Tattoo shop there at the time. I've since become a travel vlogger and you amongst others are inspirational! I enjoy your positive vibes. I feel enriched after watching ha ha! Quick question what Macs enable editing with 60fps??
Really cool video Brett!!! It’s great that you found an adventure in your home city. I hope you get the 10k likes on this video. It would be cool to see your adventure across America!!! I think I have only been to 12 states personally. I can’t count Illinois, since I was only in the airport there a bunch of times.
If you don't have shower, then you can Wash yourself by a very very wet towel, so you need 1L water and two towels (one will be wet, another you will use to be dry)
Love the creativity for "travel" / new experiences during this time!
Thanks Matt. Really did feel like I was traveling in my own city for this one
You need to hire a caravan sorta thing which has everything innit
Living out of a van was the greatest thing that ever happened to me! In NYC, the worst is the garbage trucks who rumble around the city at 2am
if you don’t mind me asking a personal question how did you manage a job while also living in a van?

what places did you usually park at to sleep at night?

I only did van life for a few months(my van had a lot of mechanical problems), but it was hands down the most rewarding thing I've done as an adult.

Glad to see you survived the night bro!
I wonder how city folk would do in northern Maine camping without the glorified van. Cake walk.

Going to boot camp for the marines in 5 days but can’t wait to come back to those road trip videos!
I was disqualified from meps man. Get it and get that retirement and enjoy your travels and time in the military dude. I'm proud of you. Enjoy

I entered, theo and I are all about that road trip life
NYPD watches your videos
Brett, we want to you driving around the country in a van!!😍 would be so much fun
East Williamsburg Brooklyn suv life going on 2 years love it.
That’s so cool! I never thought it would be possible to live in a car in NYC.
i was literally about to search for a city van life video and this shows up "9 minutes ago" very cool
Who knocks on a vehicle and asks "Is someone in there?" unless it's an emergency... was something happening outside that you needed to evacuate?
Could've been someone kidnapped in that van for all they know. It doesn't hurt to ask
@@LucasStClair-yt5ny good point

The bathroom at Tompkins Square park?? OH HELL NO. I feel bad for the homeless in there!

I’ve been living in a van this past year in 10+ states. Going from LA to NY next month, maybe I’ll see you when I’m out there. ✌🏼

get this guy to 10k.....we want that van life series !
Noise canceling headphones are a must
As soon as I heard the words 'living in a van' and 'alphabet city' I knew you weren't gonna get any sleep
A van and an eboard, tour the world, a perfect setup.
Boy it looks like a real Challenge you had. Almost as hard as living in a cardboard box on the sidewalk.
ABOUT TIME
Meet the man who got Air B NB in trouble lol
So?
The fact someone knocked on the window though 🤦🏽♀️
Meh what's the harm in it

Love the cool ideas you take on and share with us, I’ve always wanted to experience traveling in a van across the county, I say do it!!!🙏🏽
Living in a van is awesome! We absolutely love it but the internet paints a very different picture than reality and it’s important people realize that
Can you maybe give some examples. I’m thinking about living this life so I would love some tips :)

Hey Brett, hope you’re having a great week!
Thank you Daniel. Hope it's a good one for you too

Mark III looks like he treated you well. Next step: drive across the country !
Love how he was brushing his teeth at the park 😂😂😂😂
Guys! You don't have to wear masks anymore in the US? Here in Hungary (Europe) we can only be outside if we are wearing masks 🥺
🤔 don’t understand.Yes Every state is different but for the most part when your inside establishments you have to wear your mask. But majority of Americans don’t wear mask outside it’s kind of stupid.
If you mean outdoors no you don’t need to wear a mask if you’re social distancing and not in a populated area
Brett wasn’t social distancing at all with his Friends in the van.
Maybe they are vaccinated? In NYC everyone over age 16 has been eligible for the COVID vaccine since early April. And the CDC guidelines state that vaccinated people can hang out with other vaccinated people indoors without masks on.
@@mligon wow so horrible, you better be social distancing still, covid never left
Wondering how much does it cost to rent vans for a night? Really love the idea, Brett!
I love the girls eyebrows who are setting off the poppers
U do know about sprinter - van life? It's insulated, it cost 20 k to convert from a regular sprinter. It's WORTH MORE than living in NYC. Just a tip ✌
i cant wait for the Drive across America vlogs!!!
Van life this summer??? OoOoOohhhhh I like that idea! :)
You could be one of those youtubers with a super nice van or you could have more fun and adventure in an older van like that with its challenges
Get a van with a bathroom when you go cross country!! I have those I
