Baseball Highlights: Europe-Africa Olympic Qualifier: Czech Republic v Spain

In a game where Mother Nature was playing against both teams, the Czech Republic showed they were the team to beat when the weather turned. After a strong start by both pitchers, the rain began.
Spain popped onto the board shortly thereafter putting two up in the 4th and another in the 6th. The Czech Republic finally hopped onto the board in the bottom of the inning and continued the scoring momentum through the end of the game.
The Czech offense truly broke the game open in the 8th. Behind 4-3 heading into the back half of the inning, they went on an offensive tear that was really a reward for remaining patient at the plate.
Spain pitcher Jorge Balboa walked in the first two runs to give the Czech's the lead. Martin Schneider then doubled to left with the bases loaded. The shot landed in left, giving the runners time to come around, putting the Czech's ahead by their winning margin of four.
