    Hi Rodger, I noticed you adjust the dimensions to get a perfect circle. I usually hold down shift when drawing circles, squares etc., to get them perfect sided.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  4 месяца назад

      Yes, that works as well, but was keeping it KISS. Keep It Super Simple. For beginners.

  • @canuckdawg
    @canuckdawg Месяц назад

    If you hold shift when making your shape (circle or square) it will make it uniform, therefore when resizing you do not need to unlock and resize both measurements as it would be within aspect of the same.

    Is there a setting in Lightburn to turn the laser on when framing?
    I have an Atomstack A5 Pro

    Love your videos can you make one on best way to line jobs up I’m using frame but still off wish lightburn would just let you burn the grid for your machine so when you pull something to the lines it’s perfect I have the b1 if you have recommendations

      This may help: ruclips.net/video/Yay76jLQuIs/видео.html Also, setup your projects to use absolute coordinates and start from center. In Lightburn, once you have your layout, center it using the center icon. it will start from the same spot, everytime.

    Great video!!! Have a question. Does the cork have to be thick, or can it be the thinner ones that go on the back of coasters? Or how thin can they be engraved on. Thanks!!! Love all your videos!!!!

    Good video! I'm thinking of doing some cork and of course came here. I have one question. After the engraving and getting rid of the soot do you put any type of sealer or clearcoat or do you just leave it as is?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад +1

      Most of the time, leave as is. I have an order for 81 coasters to run this week and I will not be coating them with anything.

    I have watched you use several different lasers. Is there one you would rather use? I guess I am leaning Comgrow but I am just not sure. Now I am not going to make this a business just fun with a sale maybe every now and then. Thanks for Your Time

    • @rogersshop

      I don't really have any "favorite". Some, I have setup just for specific projects so I don't need to change anything when I'm going to do a "run" of items. I do keep two lasers just for miscellaneous projects and not set up for anything specific, the Atomstack P9 M50 and the Longer RAY 5, which I just upgraded to a 20 watt laser head and added limit switches(video coming soon)

    Hey man, great tutorial. I just got the Longer Ray5 10W and was wondering if you can fill me in on how you did the laser when framing please? I can't seem to get it to work.
    Thanks and thanks for the videos

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад

      Assuming you are using Lightburn and "Current Position", position the laser head where you need it (I always work from center), load your project, them click frame button.

  • @cointroll
    @cointroll Год назад +1

    You are showing doing one position at a time. Can three or four be programed at one time? If I wanted to do four coasters of the same can they be done setting up machine just once?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад

      Yes, and I do it all the time, but it is a little more advanced than what I was showing for someone just starting out. One way is to make 4 tool paths, place them adjacent to each other, insert graphic, set layers, set to absolute coordinates, set to page center. You can also engrave the four outline positions in your spoil board for fast loading. I have one of my lasers setup just to engrave our logo on candy board backs and do six at a time.

    What are you using to hold the piece's down?

    • @rogersshop

      Nothing other than gravity. Only when I get into very thin, small materials do I need to make a hold down method to keep it from blowing around.
