Ben Ryan and Jamie Harris from NYC are here to tell young gay people that, yes, it gets better. And the two of them have a few laughs along the way. They give mad props to Ellen, Wanda Sykes, Jake Shears, and the Wicked National Tour guy.

Thank you very much for inspiring me to come out and tell my mom I am gay. She still loves me and I just want to say IT DOES GET BETTER. Please do not ever give up on your life because you never know what life has planned for you. Just remember that you were born this way, don't ever let someone put you down because of who you are. You are beautiful and important. :)
I want your mom's quote on a bumper sticker. It's so eloquent, powerful, and loving that it sounds like it was written for a movie.
Everyone out there being bullied, there are all sorts of people here rooting you and we can't wait to be friends with you.
OMG you guys are adorable! You BOTH have this youthful vitality, like you could still play in the sandbox with 3 year olds. That childlike sense of fun & adventure is so there and so apparent, that sense of joy and life that comes out is just so heartwarming. Thanks for that.

I love it that you said you "love Gay people". There are many people in our community who only like certain types of gay people. Our goal should be to embrace EVERYONE in our community and have no division or prejudice within our numbers.

I had no intention of harming myself, but I just poured my heart out to my bestfriend. Luckily, she was awake. I then came across this, and out of the videos I watched, it made me smile, other than make myself feel down due to not coming out yet.

This is adorable. I am an open lesbian in a very backwoods area (I am the only open gay in my school). I'll be honest: life out here sucks. But when I was in the closet, I was seriously depressed and suicidal. Coming out lifted an enormous weight offf my shoulders and I know feel so free. Thanks, guys.

Good message, good stories. I glad your families were supportive. I am a straight, married, Christian male and support your message and your community. I have no gay family members but a few friends that are gay. I have never once understood how in 2011, we deny rights of any kind to same sex couples.
Listen up kids! It does get better. Adults in the real world realize how ignorant it is (not to mention illegal) to harass someone. Hang in there!

Now that he finally is in college he finally gets that it does get better and that his Mom and I didn't lie to him. Your video gives me grand hope that his high school years will one day just be a bad dream.

while this wasn't your standard video, I'm glad you touched on the fact that gay men and lesbians are everywhere! Especially in the military and the 'macho' arenas! Thank you for showing the diversity and acknowledging that not all gays are one way! And I say as a masculine gay man, I find that I love my masculine and feminine gays! All my LGBT people, I love you all!

me and my cuz is watching this he is 23 and ob holiday with me and i have known he was gay since i was 10 and he just told the family on my birthday. THE BEST PRESENT EVER. (it really was because now he and his boyfriend are moving in to gether.)

It was hard for me in North Carolina, too but I got through it and moved to a place where I could live the life I wanted to live.I know it seems like a long time until then but I promise that you will look back at this time in your life and know that it's a chapter in your story but not your WHOLE story. Like we say in the video: "There are still many good times to be had!" Keep faith!
Thanks for your sweet comment! My mom is great and my whole family appeared in an anti Amendment One picture with their church in North Carolina. There really are so many people who care and are "straight allies" in this fight. I'll look into making up those bumper stickers!

I know so many gays and lesbians. Honestly, they are the best people I have ever met. One of my gay friends will come to school in a lolita dress with boots and wearing makeup. And he has an amazing boyfriend who does that sometimes too.

I'D LOVE TO STEAL A YELLOW BRICK FROM THE WIZARD OF OZ MUSEUM. I didn't even know there was a Wizard of Oz museum, I feel like a big part of my life has been missing. Is it fabulous? It is a very hard process, but the weird thing is, I think I might have had some sort of change in body chemistry during my coming out process, b/c before I came out, nobody noticed me. But after I came out, everybody (both male and female) seemed/seems to find me cute.

Hey boys you two are charming working together on this most Important project. I think the cross generational perspective is in valuable. I belong to Jamies' generation and can vividly recall what it had been like for me and a boy I had loved
(Bobby Griffith/Prayers for Bobby) to be "out" young men in love in the early 1980s!
At the time, the two of us stood quite alone. I believe we could all attest that much has improved!

I'm a christian...but my uncle is gay. I've all ways surpported gay rights, and so has my whole family. My uncle was beaten up during highschool, he grew up in the 80's too. My brother, although he isn't gay himself, takes dance lessons, so he is constantly picked on at school, they always call him gay, as if being gay is wrong. Although some christians are against people who are gay. I believe in God, and I believe that God loves people who are gay, no matter what the bible says.
