Christopher Guest: Dude, this is a real sword. Cary Elwes: Bruh, you're doing these weakass hits, nobody will believe it. Guest: A REAL SWORD THOUGH. Elwes: Just bop me on the head with it. Real gentle like. Guest: Alright fine. [BOP] [Elwes wakes up in the hospital, still in costume, getting stitches put in his head] Guest: I AM SO SORRY. Elwes: Eh, it was my dumbass idea, don't worry about it Earlier in filming, Elwes broke his toe while driving Andre the Giant's ATV (which is why he is standing still for so many of his swordfights.) The same doctor treated the toe and the head injury and quipped, "Well, Zorro, you seem to be a little accident-prone, don't you?"
One of the best lesser-known quotes of this whole movie: "We are men of action, lies do not become us." - I got this tattooed on my forearm (on a banner, wrapped around the six-fingered sword.) it serves both as a reminder of my dedication to honesty and integrity and a tribute to the greatest movie ever made. :)
He was legitimately knocked out- as in, the actor actually got knocked out in this take and they had to rush him to the emergency room 😅 this is, surprisingly, 100% authentic by accident
@@tomgeytenbeek2207 yeah I know, but it still somehow looks fake to me. actually he couldnt get it to look right so he was like "knock me out for real" and they did/
@@gumi1098 I seem to recall a similar story about Kevin Nash when he was 'The Big Dude' for the bad guys in a movie with no important speaking lines. The collapsing prop knife kept falling off of him or only half-retracting, ruining the shot over and over until he eventually said something along the lines of "F-k it just stab me for real."
Wesley actually was knocked out and if you ever noticed how he sat it looked kinda weird the thing is he has a broken toe and never told anyone Just a fact xD

Actually, yes! One example is Henry the 8th's wife, Anne Boleyn, who was described to have six fingers on her right hand, just like Rugen. That's one way Henry managed to have her beheaded, saying that only witches would have such odd physical characteristics.

I love how he describes Andre and the ATV incident, "Come on, Boss. You know you want to try it."
We Are Men of action, lies do not become us... best line ever
I do not envy you the headache you will have when you awake. But for now, rest well and dream of large women.

“I’m bout to end this mans career”
"You mean you wish to surrender to me?
Very well I accept."
Gotta admire how Westley stood his ground even though his odds weren't so great.
I love how being knocked out seems so easy in this. Just a quick bop.

Yeah, that was funny
It unnerved the count.
Ugh, just when they were about to kiss. It always seems like whenever there is a romantic moment in a movie, someone just HAS to ruin it!
Gotta keep that tension high haha
This isn't one of those kissing stories.
So that's actually what it looks like when you knock someone out. Hm. Cool.
I spent my whole life thinking he was over acting but nah, he actually got his lights bonked out

I love the conviction in his performance
Apparently Chris Guest actually knocked Cary unconscious at the end. The stunt went wrong
It didn't actually go wrong. Kinda. He asked him to literally bop him on his head to make it look realistic. Now that's dedication!
@@robloxpepsimax He wasn't supposed to actually get knocked unconscious and need to go to the hospital though.
Look at the soldier catching him. He's like "ho fuck bro u actually HIT HIM!'

I thought everyone on set knew about his foot injury he got from when he tried driving Andre’s car thing.
Thought that was Viggo
Never told anyone? That’s straight up false lol. Everyone knew he broke his toe. They halted production while the doctor worked on it…

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has six fingers on his right hand. To be specific, he has two thumbs that are fused together.
The condition is called polydactylism
