The last thing Scurfa needed was to have Teddy make a video causing even MORE people to try and buy watches that aren't available. I love the brand (even though I've yet to be able to see one in the metal) and Paul Scurfield is a fascinating man (great interview with him on TGN) and I've been trying to buy one for a year or so.

I love that you lend credibility to quartz watches. So many watch snobs act as if a quartz is not even a watch. But for some of us watch enthusiasts, mechanical watches, while being amazing little micro-machines, require too much work to keep running, some interaction to keep on time, and lots of expense to maintain. Quartz solves all of theses problems. Plus, many of the high end HAQ models are simply amazing watches. Case in point...the Citizen Chronomasters. Absolutely amazing time pieces!

It’s been my most worn watch for around four years. Can’t beat the package: the accuracy and serviceability of quartz, stainless steel, beefy crossbars and nato strap options, sapphire crystal and AR, and some models come with ceramic bezels. There is zero sloppiness in the bezel action, although mine gets a touch sticky/hard to turn when in salt water. Just a fanatic piece. A lot people mistake it for a Sub.

Love the Scurfa. It's a honest and practical dive time piece that will appeal to people who appreciates function and usability. These time pieces are not over-built, but just nice. All cost savings are passed on to the consumer and that's a wonderful gesture from the founder. It is never screaming to be a premium dive watch and is not pretending to be one. Just an honest tested tool watch that will appeal to a niche group of grateful + appreciative consumers 👍😊

I'm in the UK Teddy and I have had one for about a year. I also scuba dive.
It is the best value dive watch I have and at the price ideal to take diving rather than my aquis or Pelagos. Although I have dived with them I'd be alot more upset if I lost them over this. Also great to wear and dive with a watch designed by a commercial diver. Great video as always best wishes Dale

I have that exact model on my wrist today. They have usually been quite attainable in the past, but recent publicity is making them hard to get with releases being sold out in record times. Used to be a hidden gem. Good for Skurfa and bad for those of us that have loved them for a long time.

Looks really nice. Best feature for me is the domed crystal with internal AR coating. I think that’s the best combo for managing reflections. An external AR coating might scratch or break down, but a curved surface for me softens reflections. I don’t like how flat crystals can flash at me. Main thing that could be improved for me is probably the clasp. I like easily operated micro-adjust, but many watches don’t have it. I like the sword hands. It looks like the rubber strap has close hole spacing which is good. Personally I’d probably hold off on this watch until I actually take up diving 😅

Blue Diver One in Steel on my wrist as I type. I work in the oil industry i have done much drilling work in the North Sea and West of Shetlands. I believe Paul Scurfield works for commercial diving company Subsea 7 who are a major player providing services to oil and gas companies like pipeline and flowline installation, inspection and testing, subsea tree work etc. etc. When I heard of the wach via TGN I knew I had to have one. I've even gifted a few to retiring colleagues as the watch has such a good story.

I bought the 10th anniversary steel with green dial. I could be wrong, but the bezel looks plated which cheapens the look of you ask me. I’d lean toward the model Teddy recommends instead - better overall finishing. While not worn at depth, I have worn it in the ocean. Great visibility. Better with a nato strap since the rubber strap was quite rigid. Overall great watch, cool dial, and solid build quality.

These now have a FOMO factor since they restock only occasionally and you have to jump in quickly when they become available. That aside they have the best back story possible for a dive watch. If you want one remember the guy still works at a full time job so be patient.

I added MS22 version and bought their light blue strap to add some colour. Ocean blue was not bright enough but matches the Sinn U1 blue face really well (mine's actually a U50 SBS but probably the same blue). The hardware also fits Helm straps nicely. Only thing I don't like is the distortion from the domen sapphire but understand its dive benefits. Persevere with the customer service which is less than perfect and needs logic reiterating to get your point across. I settled for some spare spring bars to offset a misunderstanding but they're very busy so need some slack as we all make mistakes when overrun. Keep thinking about another though... 😉

I’ve been diving for nearly 40 years, been a dive instructor for 35 years, have run a recreational dive operation for 30 years and was a commercial diver for ages. NOBODY and I mean nobody uses these watches; not the SBS, not NAVY SEALS, not Unit 101, not Shayetet 13, not technical divers, and not commercial divers use these types of watches wile diving. These watches offer nothing more than minutes and seconds. There’s no compass, there’s no depth info, they don’t record your dive profiles, they don’t calculate RNT, the don’t apply surface time to RNT, etc, etc, etc. IMHO anybody calling these watches a dive watch is a grifting clown looking to capitalize on Omega or Rolex’s 70 year old designs. A helium escape valve? How many humans live in a "He" rich environment requiring a watch with off gassing capability? A commercial diver isn’t going to buy/wear a $250 watch, they’ve got the money and will buy a Rolex Seamaster or an Omega

    チタンケースでこのデザイン、500mで250ドル。 これは素晴らしいが、バッテリーだけが問題。
    クォーツは構わないが、バッテリー交換のたびに500mの水密テストをするとランニングコストが高くなる。

Looks good but Im hesitant to buy a watch that prints watches on the dial, of I don't know,,,,, a watch, a bit redundant, IMO.

I understand this review is for the Scurfa Diver Pro. Regrettably, after watching this review, I purchased the Top Side Crew Stainless Steel Turquoise Dial - Mens. The Scurfa Top Side Crew is junk. I held it in my hand for less than 15 seconds before I emailed Scurfa asking for their return address. I have bands that weigh more than the Scrufa Top Side Crew watch. It looks and feels like a toy watch. I recommend a Swatch watch over the Scrufa Top Side Crew. To be fair to Teddy, his review was for the Scrufa Diver One. I just want to save you the headache of my mistake. Now I have to pay to ship it back to England. I suspect I will spend close to $100 to return a crappy $285 watch. #BuyerBeware #Scrufa
