Nice job, Patrick! The story surrounding the trial of the Niagara County sheriff's involvement is truly interesting. I read, but did not verify, that was the first time an atheist was allowed to testify in court. In addition, it is said that this was also the first time jury selection was used in the United States.

I have a letter from Thurlow Weed dated June 17th 1828 to General Dudley Marvin requesting assistance from the District Attorney in regards to ongoing liable “of certain charges against me for mutilating a body found at Oak Orchard Creek”. There is also a note in the margin that reads “Good enough Morgan until after the election”. It came from the papers of James Sheldon III who came to Buffalo in 1815 and was Judge Advocate of the 24th Div, lawyer, and local politician. He was an early Buffalo Pioneer and wrote up the trial of the Three Thayers in 1825

Wow, crazy story! I wonder if William Morgan left any decedents in WNY? I knew someone with that name, from a town north of Batavia, he looked just like him.

What about the huge obelisk grave site memorial with plaque stating Morgan was murdered by Freemasons for revealing their secrets??
What about the documented deathbed confessions from one of Morgan’s Freemasons murderers??

I am sorry I do not believe this case proves Masons to be evil, I think it proves the start of a evil attack on Masons. Far too much proof of good they do over the propaganda the Church's spread, more like witch hunts of old. Think about it, Fyi I am Christian but I see some evil stuff thats tainted all the Christian church's in US and likely will be causing more damage in future than any good for all of us atheists citizens too.
