I'm not an immunologist - but anyone with even a scant understanding of logic and statistics has been feeling angry and anxious this last 3 weeks. These are my thoughts - I hope they are helpful.
My heart reaches out to those already directly suffering from the effects of the CoronaVirus. Our Spanish friends are now in the heat of the battle, as we in Britain will soon be, barring a miracle. God bless ya - be strong and be careful. Vaya con Dios.
Folks everywhere - our miracle will come - but we need to help it happen. We need to buy time - and the closer we get to a Nation where every household is isolated from every other - the more time we will buy. Remember not to expect things to change immediately - turning this thing around is like trying to make an ocean liner change its course - you have turn the rudder and then wait until it slowly responds. But we can do this.
Be safe - and let’s be grateful we have a chance here. And let’s still try to enjoy each day we’re given.

Will Colon unfortunately in the face of some false positives there are many (at least in Italy according to estimates at least six cases each case discovered) asymptomatic positives that circulate without knowing they are infected and attending carelessly relatives spread, even if involuntarily, the virus. The only solution is always and only insulation at home.

Totally agree Bri! I’m a nurse in the US and having to deal with shortages of PPE and inadequate testing. I self-isolate when I’m not at work to protect my loved ones! It’s scary every time I go to work cause we don’t know who’s infected and who’s not, because they are only testing those with severe symptoms, so because anyone can carry this virus and not show symptoms, it’s a shame! Please take care and stay well! Everyone needs to stay home and protect our most vulnerable.

Stay safe and take care. I have a lot of respect for those on the frontlines. Salute! I also include truckers and grocery store employees. What is happening in the US scares me right now. I've been isolating due to being asthmatic and being near a mild case of Corona. So far I'm good. I want to keep it that way.
I’m very grateful for people like you on the front lines. I’m not a medical professional but am essential personnel in a congregate care community. I go to work and take steps to isolate when I can and all precautions. The government fumbling and posturing around this crisis has been astounding. Thank you Bri! I'm an Italian teacher (and a Queen fan), we are lock in our houses from february 23. Our students are scared and of course we all try to teach them literature, history, maths, physics but the most importat thing it's to talk with them and to take away fears and tears (and tell them to stay home).
Helping people with their "fears & tears" is paramount...❤

What an amazing human being - congratulations to Brian May for what he is giving of himself to the world in this time of crisis. As an Australian, I am appalled at what is NOT being done here in Australia to curb the spread of covid-19. We seem not to be progressing against the fight to halt this virus, but in fact, regressing. Allowing 2,700 cruise ship passengers to disembark in Sydney last week, and to all go on their merry way. The Army, Airforce, Navy, Police, whoever - should have been there to take these people straight into quarantine. No-one wants to take the blame for this major stuff-up. We now have a surge in cases and already two deaths of passengers that came off these ships. They have learned their lesson now, and we have 2 ships, so I believe, in the waters off the W.A. coastline, with passengers (not sure of numbers), waiting to disembark and be taken straight into quarantine on Rottnest Island. A number of New Zealand passengers also on board, will be flown straight back home. Too late now to worry about the 2,700 from last week, and Heaven forbid the numbers of covid-19 cases that will increase in the coming week or so.

Yes, well said Mr Peter Marchant. I remember listening to that song when I was 14, about 41 years ago. And OMG.... I knew the government’s chief scientific advisor’s sister in my 20’s and sang at his wedding, about 35 years ago... it was him who said that washing hands and developing a herd immunity would work. I wonder how he is feeling, because Brian is right! We should have shut down weeks ago, but, we’re better off thinking about what we’re doing now, from now on. Best not to dwell on what could have been. Keep broadcasting Brian, you have been and are a guiding light for so many.

My boy and several of his friends (in their mid-twenties) have all been very sick indeed with *COVID-19.* It's a very nasty disease, and is VERY tenacious; it doesn't "just go away". It lingers like a bastard...

I'm (slowly) convalescing here in Canada, in self-quarantine with my laptop and my cat, and thinking that if what I've been sweating out has been a "mild to moderate" case, then my heart is with anyone else who's been infected and is going through the same hell or worse. I truly hope that your son and his friends are improving, though you're right, this lingers like a bastard from hell! (Day 11, and I still feel like I was hit by a truck... just less so than yesterday.) All of my most positive energy to you and yours, that you may stay well, and that your son and his friends may make a complete and faster recovery! Brian, I live in Hawaii and this state is still letting air flights from the main United States land here. On Thursday the 26th, then no more flights into Hawaii. We are finally on lockdown here, starts tomorrow the 24th. Wish us luck, we already have 58 confirmed positive cases, SO FAR!

Same thing here in Canada; we took too long to close borders and lock down. We have been following this seriously since January and by mid-Feb were panicking because our government was merely watching and waiting (though we did voluntarily self-isolation in our home too). 2 Iceland delivery vans set on fire in Bristol and then an Asda delivery van in Weston-super-Mare.
In the most deprived estates here, kids used to attack emergency services vehicles in the 80's & 90's with bricks & bottles as standard.

Thank you Brian...I live in the U.S. and we are all quarantined as well. We still have another week or so and then they will look at the stats and see what to do next. I cannot tell you how it feels to see you on a video talking to us like this. I also can't tell you how much I love Queen. For the last year I have done nothing but watch youtube and Queen. I am so crazy over it, my family thinks I am getting senile. lol I am 70...so I know Queen and have always loved you guys. Being stuck in the house like this and watching Freddie can get a bit depressing. I cry quite often...and I don't care who thinks I'm nuts. Thank you for trying to inform people of the seriousness of our current situation. We just found out about the first case in the small town where I live. The woman had been out of the country, I assume started feeling bad and decided the smart thing to do was go to the pharmacy!! NOT!!!! When she tested positive, the pharmacy was shut down and I imagine caused all the employees to panic!! Sorry I’m ranting but some people just haven’t got the sense God gave a goose!!!!!! Nothing has changed here, people are still coming and going and just not taking it serious.
We are allowed to go to the shops, go out for exercise when really no one should be allowed outside without a good reason.

Lovely man you are,my son has been on lockdown in Barcelona for almost three weeks,luckily he had a 5 hr op,which was needing desperately for over a year,BEFORE all this went viral,I'm in bad health but flew out there to visit him after his op,for which I'm eternally grateful,they are ok,they have a balcony,nice weather,and a rooftop on which my 6yrd Leo can play with his mates from upstairs,my son is an older dad,at 49! Just glad his op was done,and I was able to give him lots of hugs,before all this madness,thanx Brian,and still trying to look after our hedgehogs! Love to you and your family xx

I’m an American doctor working in Germany since 2010 (hubby is German) and I wish we had locked down everything a lot sooner. I won’t share any stories but just say that we are exhausted and trying our very best BUT we need you guys- the general public- to please stay home. Thanks Brian for supporting us.

Love you thanks for this I have underlying health conditions so I'm self isolating and I'm doing everything correct but getting help from mum and local charities it's so lonely as ive got mum and know nobody.. thank goodness for the wrvs and our nhs. I'm 41.. and to everyone who reads this take this advice seriously its very hard..

I agree. I’m glad they shut the UK down. It’s for 3 weeks, hope things turn around. It’s the same way here in the US, too. The young generation just doesn’t care, they think their not affected, but they are, even if they don’t feel any symptoms. We’re on lockdown in several states, even here in Texas. I’ve been working from home for a week, I retire a week from today, not the way I thought I’d end my 35+ year career but here we are. I hope my trip to London and Montreux in late May June does not get spoiled but if so, it is what it is. Safety and our lives is what matters the most. Please, you and the Mrs. stay safe, Dr. Brian.
Just day by day. I just retired (03/20/20) from 21 yrs as a correction Officer... So now I am the one on lock down. Go figure. Even had a trip planned to see Marc Martel..but all is good. Concert got re-scheduled. I am also planning to go to Montreux. But next year. Just move your plans to next year to be safe.
