Will this MKR series will be the new UNO series in the field of IoT?
    Or
Do you still prefer ESP boards?
Feel free to share your thoughts🙌🏻

Hey, how is this a "New Revolution" since the board is available since 2018 if i'm not mistaken. Anyway as you said its a good entry level platform for education or low end iot applications but imo it lacks a fast storage method such as SDIO or QSPI/OCTAL FLASH etc which makes it a bit slow for anything other than simple MQTT/CLOUD data reporting applications with additional server hardware. I actually prefer esp32 used with a local server via its official esp-idf. Esp is also cheaper, faster, it has more peripherals, more storage, it has OTA and it's a bit more rugged with its EMI shielding.

I agree completely! This video tries to create fake hype around this overpriced piece of kit.
Arduinos are lagging behind in terms of price and functionality, so the management needs to wake up before it's too late.

8:28 My guess is the difference in upload speed due to the fact that the MKR uses native USB for downloading the code unlike the ESPs which use a USB to serial converter.

Cost of the board tell me I think it is 34$ as you shown in video but esp 32 price just 5 $ only so I like ESP32 only why because less price more features

I was looking for this comment. Genuine Arduinos are a flop in India, while clones are a veritable hit!

ARE YOU ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE ONTO IT, THEN CONNECT IT TO A BATTERY AND STILL HAVE WIFI??
I feel like I cannot find the answer to this ANYWHERE on the internet. My senior design team wants to make on app on a phone that can communicate with the arduino Uno, and we want to do this with the arduino connected to a battery, not a PC.

Techiesms, I want to make you a question. There is a way to make a ATS with a wifi arduino? I need to make a connection for a Power generator and managed and must be controlled by internet. I see many projects, but only with Arduino UNO (using ethernet). And because i never do a thing like this, i do not know if i can power on / off a generator by internet (from an app developed for this).
Well. Even if you cannot replay me, i want to give you my thanks for the videos (i am not english talker, so please excuse me for my spelling, i am from Argentina and i am spanish talker as almost all south american people (less brazil and some little islands of caribe) :D.

Thanks very useful video, do you think I can fetch information from an internet website with this board. For a project I need to get the weather information from internet and send it to a arduino MEGA. Thanks a lot

Somehow ESP board cheaper than arduino board, i think i'll keep using ESP for now

Guess the upload speed is configured on Arduino IDE, definitely depends upon clock freq of board.

    • @techiesms
      @techiesms  2 года назад +2

I don’t think so that it depends on click frequency as ESP32 has higher clock frequency still upload speed is really less

Isn't it costly, comparing to esp boards.
