The Sanctuary Choir of the Opequon Presbyterian Church in Winchester VA, performed "The Glory of Christmas" Cantata at the 8:30 & 11 am services on Sunday, Dec. 23d. We had 38 voices, a children's trio, director, piano accompanist, & 1 narrator. We rehearsed it over a 2 month period. Our director purchased the CD's for the vocal parts..Since I don't read music very well it helped to learn the music in between rehearsals by listening to the bass & unison parts. The music was received very well by the congregation.
EXCELENTE TRABAJO NECESITO ESTA OBRA CON SU PARTITURA CON ACOMPAÑAMIENTO DE PIANO, PISTA Y DEMO DE VOCES, SI TIENEN LA TRADUCCION A ESPAÑOL MEJOR, MI PAGO TENDRA QUE SER NO CON TARJETA ESPERO RESPUESTA. BENDICIONES DIRIJO UN CORO MIXTO IGLESIA CRISTIANA
Would like to find an audio file that the instrumental parts are brought out in. Trying to play along with the Trombone part and even with meticulous counting I am struggling.
I find it's best to just listen to the music and follow along on the instrumental part, noting what's going on (and maybe even writing in some cues where the voices come in, etc.). Playing along with a recording is really hard without a conductor to watch for tempo and meter changes. Best of luck with your [presumed] concert! :)
Thank you for the advice and encouragement . I have done precisely that. First group rehearsal is this Wednesday. Dress rehearsal this Saturday, and performance this Sunday. In my personal "daily" practice time I have worked out a number of the phrases particularly the ones with the almost hidden accidentals. Feeling much more confident now. The mantra form my former brass instructor "Consistent Daily Practice" makes for a solid performance.
Hello brethren from Philippines here interested to get a soft copy of the pieces and it's track for I am planning to organize a cantata for our choir at church and raise fund for our school children. I'm the a choir conductress by the way. How to have it? Can't find the link given.
