Wow it’s like everyone here is so much older than me, I’m 11 and everyone else is like 20
So glad this one was chosen as a single. I like how the "freaks" in the video are all performing alone or just to one person, it makes the message less "be yourself because some people will accept it and adore you" (which is still true) and more "be yourself because even without constant praise and adulation you're enough". It's about having the confidence to remind yourself, even when you're alone, that it's ok to be a bit strange. Or maybe I'm over analysing.
@@HandsOffGretel also know that what makes you different makes you special no matter what they say about you they’re just jealous because they want the same as what you want and if you ever hate yourself talk to a friend or an adult because they’re there for you and love you very much and I love you even if no one else does and know you are loved things will get better and just adore yourself and what you can do don’t let anyone stop you from what you want to become

You might and might not get where I’m coming from but thank you, this song means a lot to me , especially after all that I’ve been through, depression has been no treat, I’ve attempted suicide, harmed myself, bullied myself and been bullied because of my weight, scarred for life by shitheads that don’t care, lost people so close to me, and yet I’m somehow still here, but come to think of it, it’s funny how much I’ve been through in all my 11 years of life, that’s why I thank you for making this, my grandpa just passed away and it’s been hard so I think the lyrics you spoke are the words I wanted to hear, thank you so much

I love the softness of this song Lauren and it quickly became my fave from 'I Want The World'. There is always so much honesty and emotion in your lyrics and that really gets to me and inspires me like few other writers and performers do. We are all freaks in our own way!!
