I’m confused. The lightning spell seems to be centred on a full square. The line of squares affected goes two away from the origin, leaving an odd number of squares (5) affected along one axis. But with lightning you seemed to center the spell on a point between squares. This gives an even number of squares affected (10). Why can lightning be placed between squares? It seems harder to achieve that. What happens if you are off and you tap a lightning on a square? Does the spell default to being between squares?
I will be honest, I assumed that if you put 4 builder huts in a row, and zapped right between the center two, it would hit all 4, but I have never been able to make it work. The 2.5 radius appears to work from the center of a tile, but not enough to essentially cover 6 tiles across. When I zap in the middle of a line of 6 wall bricks, it will only damage the middle 4.

What if u use two zap instead of 3 between the cc and archers and kind of let the zap surround the cc full circle and let quaake do the work of finishing all the archer towers.
Yes. You can actually have 3 empty spaces between them and hit both if your drop it between them. It will go 2.5 tiles one direction and 2.5 tiles the other direction.

Yes. Take 71% of a building, then divide by 560 (rounding up) if your spells are maxed. The EQ drops a CC from 4,800 hp to 3,408. Divide that by 560, and you need just over 6 lightning spells to destroy the CC (so round up to 7).
Level 5 quake will take 29% of the 5,200 hit points off the eagle. That leaves 3,692. 2nd quake takes off 502 hit points. That means 7 zaps will deal the 3,360 needed to finish it off. One quake plus 8 zaps would do the same.

You can destroy a line up to 11 tiles long. If you drop it on the 6th one in line, it will get the 5 in each direction. Technically, it has a radius of 5.5 tiles.
They are hard to pin down. They need to be stopped for a brief moment. I have not figured them out exactly except in war watching the path they take around their altar. requires great timing.
Ah. I misunderstood. It won’t make a difference if everything is placed correctly. I usually do the lightning first since I am frequently using it to kill an archer queen. During the 30 seconds before the battle begins, you can watch her and drop them without losing any of the 3 minutes. My next video will be a mass hog zapquake which shows how I position the EQ after dropping the 7 lightning.
As people learn more about the power of the lightning spell, they space their bases out more. For war attacks, I have been meeting with success being able to get queen, cc, and a scattershot with the zaps.
Actually, the earthquake spell will take a fixed percentage worth of hit points off of a building regardless of how many it currently has. It takes the percentage of the buildings maximum hit points. So, with a max earthquake spell you will always deal damage equal to 29% of the buildings total starting points. If you want to test this out, just do a friendly challenge and send some barbarians at a perimeter building where they can still get killed by a defense. Once the building is almost destroyed, stop sending in barbarians and drop an earthquake spell on it. If it would only deal a percentage of hit points left, it would never actually be able to deliver a killing blow. But, there are many times I have destroyed a Townhall by dropping an earthquake spell on it after it is almost destroyed.

Just shorthand for lightning spell. Instead of saying “lightning and earthquake”, a “zapquake” implies a combination of the lightning spell (zap) and the earthquake spell (quake). I never really thought about how that might make sense in English and less sense in another language.
In English, zap is like “strike” or “destroy”. Usually with a sudden force. Since a lightning bolt has a sudden force that strikes, people refer to being hit by lightning as being “zapped”.

It does not work any more. Back in December 2020, they removed cc damage from the lightning spell.

I was making so many different attacks at various TH levels around zapping the cc. Hogs, loons, etc.

Zap CC still working after update?
Not anymore. ZapQuake will still be viable to get a cluster of scattershots and a queen, but no more zapping the clan castle. 😢
