Hell yeah it was hard to find bases with 3k. And 5k was very rare. Most of the time i only find 1k dark elixir. But i did spend so many hours brewing lighting spells and dropping them on the storage to get my queen.
I remember when you could access all your barracks separately and train different troops in them all so you could have a few barbs in your first barracks and then train giants in your second and they train at the same time
@@jack8356 Even when they removed it, it was still the same mechanic really It just made it the fastest it could be Like if 1 of your barracks could train a giant then it would take 2 minutes, if 2 could train a giant it would take a minute, if 3 could train a giant then it would be 40 seconds and if 4 could train giants it would be 30 seconds It basically just automatically put them in certain barracks It's very hard to explain in a text
I remember needing to memorize how many of which troops to train in each barracks in order to have them train the fastest. Then I took a break, came back, and forgot it. I didn't want to deal with it again, so I just stopped playing again. The new system is soooooo much better and convenient.

You missed 1 big thing here. Troops / spells used to cost gold and elixir/ dark elixir to train them . Which costs a hell lot. And needed much much loot . But now, it doesnt take any. This is a huge huge change
This is the single best change that saved the game for me. I remember how awful it felt to raid, where so many potential attacks would barely break even and that was IF you destroyed everything. A game mechanic should never discourage you from playing lol.

I came back to this game just a week ago after 8 long years, took a while to recover my then near maxed th10, cuz at that time th10 was the maxed townhall. The most striking thing i noticed was that the troops dont take elixir or dark elixir to cook them. In our time trophy pushing was impossible since we often used to run out of elixir or dark elixir so couldnt train troops. We had to farm using Barch or goblins to train a single army but then u lose trophies. And now loots are overflowing. Its funny to see that Infernos and xbows still gets exhausted and stops working after a time in fact in our times we had to spend actual dark elixir to fuel the infernos and xbows.
Yeah, I remember that you needed to rearm xbows with elixir and infernos with dark elixir just like traps. You can still see the little bit of stored elixir in the xbows today.
It's been almost 7 years since the last time I played clash of clans and when I saw my classmates playing the game, I too wanted to play the game again and yeah, I've never felt like being under the rock before. The most surprising thing about me is that there's no longer global chat. I can still remember the global chats filled with people sending invites in the chat, different people from different countries talking with each other. Hell, even mocking with each other if ever they got themselves in a clan war.

I started playing in 2012 but I was kinda young at the time and didn't fully understand the elements of the game. Been on and off the game over the last ten years and the biggest difference is how easy the games gotten, so much opportunity for loot and no/low costs eveywhere. Honestly miss the dark elixir grind, I was so good at tunneling for it
Here is the bonus one.. there were 4 barracks and if you upgrade one barrack then you are not be able to train army from it.. you have to train your army from other barrack which might be lower at level... Really annoying... Coz we have to upgrade all the barrack at same level to use the troop after upgrading one of them...💁

Th's were all outside because it was giving 12 hour shield to defender but causes only 1000 loot loss so all townhalls were outside and attacker was getting %100 of its league bonus. Basically you deploy your heroes or couple of archers and you get 200k loot from league bonus and for trade of this, defender was getting 12 hour shield I think this was the best feature. I'm very sad that it removed...

back in the day like in 2014/15 it took me like 2 whole years just to get to town hall 9 and the max town hall back then used to be 10 lol now it took me 2 years to get to a mid level th12 from the start which is insane considering the grind from 9 till 12
Back in 2016 when I started playing it was comparatively very boring and upgrades were pretty slow and Th9 was the max base but now they have made it soo fast that one can jump from one Th to another with the help of medals and magic items way more quickly. I think they should slow it down a little coz many people who have started playing quite recently 3-4yrs ago only are having bases equivalent to me😅 & that makes me jealous😂

I remember the re arm traps option, it really was annoying, and ice wizards too. I remember the sell building too. I remember the snow too. I also remember my th taking 1 month to upgrade. I miss those days when resources were very rare. nowadays, mu cc and storage is full of the gold and elixer.

Yes the training time reduction made farming lot easier. When training took long time and we had wars then farming was very hard. Because army took full day to train 😂
Finding 400k - 600k loot used to be super rare. It was almost always range from 100k to 300k. But now more than 1 million is more common. Yeah it was harder to farm before
Just 1 thing that supercell did well now from early days is "we don't need to spend elixir or dark elixir to train troops, brew spells".😌 Other than that, they made most of the changes unnecessarily (really miss those early days) 😢
Another thing was training your troops in separate barracks. Back then, there were still multiple barracks (as opposed to the single one now), and you had to train a certain number of troops in each one. If you were upgrading one, it got disabled and you had to train your troops in the others (which would take a longer time)
Super cell was always pretty cool about people finding exploits in the game not getting punished. I found a way to name myself Adolf Hitler in clash and they didn’t ban me but instead changed my name to Royale pup

Good thing they added copy base feature . They also made upgrades faster , back in 2017 it took me almost a year to max out TH9
i remember when COC used to have more than one barrack and you needed to upgrade all of them just to make the troops to train faster i just logged in to CoC after years and i realised that some buildings that i put in my walls were missing so people were able to just put all their troops near my town hall and destroyed it
1:50 it wasnt only traps you had to re arm, but x-bow and inferno towers aswell, x-bow with elixir, inferno towers with dark elixir, they had an ammo system (they still do now but replenish automatically when you log into your base) it was also super expensive iirc
The giant bomb used to deal x2 damage against hog riders too. And the x bows and the inferno towers needed dark elixir to work, being disabled after running out of dark elixir.
I remember when they changed the models for the archer queen and barbarian king, they used to be lower quality, also back then the area which heros protected was much bigger, the circle was like half of the base
The traps where the most annoying things. Earlier than this video shows, there was no button to reactivate all at once. You had to tap every single one and then purchase the reactivation. And giant Bombs cost 50k gold each (which 4 present, so in total 200k, which was equivalent of an normal attack loot back then), which was a lot of gold at that time, so many players did not reactivate them
I still remember there used to be 2/3 barracks, then when one barrack is being upgraded you couldnt use it and then after its upgraded you can train the new unlocked troop only in that barrack but not in the other barracks and they used to get trained at the same time. Also i remember that it used to cost elixir just to train the troops.
You missed a few 1. Upgrading barracks or spell factory and not being able to train army. 2. There used to be 4 barracks, and to reduce training time we had to keep all of them upgraded. 3. Lightning spell used to take 2 spaces. Now it takes only one. 4. Legend league multiplayer battle search used to take hours Fun fact: There used to be a clan Savage Seven where all the players were at TH7, and at legend league! They used to do mass dragon attacks and aim for 1 star on TH10 and TH11 bases. Now it is impossible to do so because of much higher town halls (TH16)
I stopped playing for a long time and when I started again, I needed a few days to realize, that you don´t have to spend gold and elixier to build an army. Gathering ressources is so much easier now.
I left COC literally for 8 years, when I returned last month I thought I was trippin because of things that changed especially the cost of buildings and upgrades
Remember when people make war bases to double up walls for secure th when siege doesn't exist we use valks and jump spell for core that's was so nostalgic.

Also once you get to th6 back then the wall upgrade is hell. so much money spent. also the lightning spell attack. they only attack using that, it was honeslty an anger inducing moment. I remember the days when i bougut king for 10k and queen for 40k, i stopped playing some time after and downloaded the game just a month ago, seeing the changes made me almost cry cuz i was getting almost no sleep bcs of the grind
At that time it took so much time to train the pekka and dragons and the amount of exiler i wasted for training them. I need to find a base that has double amount of my training cost. By chance if the attack is unsuccessful the waiting time and elixer will all go to waste.
Back in the day, troops actually cost elixer so people would train archers and aim at resources on the border of the hall to gain the max loot and probably even aim for a 50 percent Those were the only times when mortars were feared. Also, training dark elixer troops was extremely inconvenient due to training cost coming from dark elixer.

I still remember the days where I have to find good TH base setups , take a screen shot and manually placing each and every item by going back and froth from screen shot to game. Good thing they added copy base feature .
They also made upgrades faster , back in 2017 it took me almost a year to max out TH9
i remember when COC used to have more than one barrack and you needed to upgrade all of them just to make the troops to train faster i just logged in to CoC after years and i realised that some buildings that i put in my walls were missing so people were able to just put all their troops near my town hall and destroyed it

I think I am one of those who bought both barbarian king and archer queen at 10000 dark elixir
1:50 it wasnt only traps you had to re arm, but x-bow and inferno towers aswell, x-bow with elixir, inferno towers with dark elixir, they had an ammo system (they still do now but replenish automatically when you log into your base) it was also super expensive iirc
The giant bomb used to deal x2 damage against hog riders too. And the x bows and the inferno towers needed dark elixir to work, being disabled after running out of dark elixir.

I remember when they changed the models for the archer queen and barbarian king, they used to be lower quality, also back then the area which heros protected was much bigger, the circle was like half of the base
The traps where the most annoying things. Earlier than this video shows, there was no button to reactivate all at once. You had to tap every single one and then purchase the reactivation. And giant Bombs cost 50k gold each (which 4 present, so in total 200k, which was equivalent of an normal attack loot back then), which was a lot of gold at that time, so many players did not reactivate them
Rearming traps was awesome I remember having to re buy them from the shop every time took forever
I still remember there used to be 2/3 barracks, then when one barrack is being upgraded you couldnt use it and then after its upgraded you can train the new unlocked troop only in that barrack but not in the other barracks and they used to get trained at the same time.
Also i remember that it used to cost elixir just to train the troops.
You missed a few
1. Upgrading barracks or spell factory and not being able to train army.
2. There used to be 4 barracks, and to reduce training time we had to keep all of them upgraded.
3. Lightning spell used to take 2 spaces. Now it takes only one.
4. Legend league multiplayer battle search used to take hours
Fun fact:
There used to be a clan Savage Seven where all the players were at TH7, and at legend league! They used to do mass dragon attacks and aim for 1 star on TH10 and TH11 bases.
Now it is impossible to do so because of much higher town halls (TH16)
Dark elixir used to be so rare back in the day, that people would literally buy gems and use 600 of them to get the barbarian king at TH7.

Also once you get to th6 back then the wall upgrade is hell. so much money spent. also the lightning spell attack. they only attack using that, it was honeslty an anger inducing moment. Also the upgrade time back then was hell. it takes more than 1 week for core building upgrades above th8

At that time it took so much time to train the pekka and dragons and the amount of exiler i wasted for training them. I need to find a base that has double amount of my training cost.
By chance if the attack is unsuccessful the waiting time and elixer will all go to waste.
Back in the day, troops actually cost elixer so people would train archers and aim at resources on the border of the hall to gain the max loot and probably even aim for a 50 percent
Those were the only times when mortars were feared.
Also, training dark elixer troops was extremely inconvenient due to training cost coming from dark elixer.
