    $50-100 for a meal on the beach?

    As a fellow lover of Colombia, I know you have to go to Mexico and think to yourself "man this isn't Colombia". Wayyyy too many foreginers in Mexico these days which consequently hike the prices so high. I understand that tourists towns are expensive, but the prices there are comical in Tulum; it just doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. The value just isn't there anymore, but to each their own. I think you'd really enjoy the beaches of Oaxaca, and there is also a pretty big alternative wellness, holistic scene there too. If I'm not mistaken, the local culture of Oaxaca is realtively big on psychedelics, the Mayans weren't about that at all. In Oaxaca there is a magic mushroom town in the mountains, you should explore. Food is amazing out there too.

      I bet the food is great. I had a dish from Oaxaca once in a restaurant in the Bay Area. It was like this dark stew. It was amazing.

      Molè! Yeah there’s plenty of cool beach towns that are still local. I don’t travel outside of the USA to hang out in a USA bubble

      Love Oaxaca. Has all the best of central America.
      Yes tulum has some non sensical prices around.
      Working for a project out here, Miami/texas buyers are scooping up some jungle víllas here. Wellness mecca, events tourism and heavy music parties make it a draw for many.
      And yes, Hard to compare anywhere to Colombia at this point 😅😉

    I love Mexico and have lived there for months at a time since 2018 but Tulum ain’t it for me. Way too Americanized. There’s much better beach communities that don’t charge gringo prices

      Definitely ain't for everyone. Definitely is for some. Seems to be a stepping stone from miami/texas/cancún

      What have you heard about the train?

    • @ChrisJustGoes
      @ChrisJustGoes Год назад

      @@SamMillerLife It's on par with completion with the airport by December, there actually already clearing the main highway out front (cancun-chetumal hwy) for conversion into a 4-5 lane highway like when you exiti Cancun airport. Train will swing around the back side of Tulum (opposite from the coast) and head to the south corner over by Laguna Nopalitos were I'm at, so it will never actually enter into tulum town/city. Well after an overpass will get built downtown like the one you take coming thru Playa del Carmen, from Cancun-chetumal highway there's about 8 access roads in plan that'll directly go to the beach also. Exiting south of Tulum to were the airport is, there is only plans for high end hotel structures and only one housing community that was granted to continue building, the one I'm in-besides that they will keep it all "eco-natural"

      @@SamMillerLife the train is compared to that of the bullet train in Germany, it will swing as far down as Palenque chiapas and is 1 of 4 or 5 other sections of train routes that will get built in Mexico as a whole. It's a great time to invest as I could rant off on all the positive moves Mx has made economically since 2020, but the biggest one is Tesla signing the deal with a building plant that is one of many. Mexico has a VERY bright future, but I personally still prefer to establish myself in COL, BRZ or possibly Thai (becuase of my choice in lifestyle)

    It looks like a great place to visit. Me and my family went to Cobeñas some years ago. We enjoyed also the beach, the sea and visited some important places. Nice video. Greetings from Chocó!😉👍🏽

    Countryside on the way in to Tulum looks quite a bit like semi-arid parts of Australia. Love the little beachside village at sunset there.

    Also, the train line you were referring to that was supposed to go through Cancun to Tulum isn't happening anymore. They fought against it. My understanding is that it will go from Cancun to Merida and south from there
