FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina spends her time cooking, gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera?
Her retired son-in-law films, her daughter helps her prep, and she usually has one or two grandkids in the kitchen.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video!
To have such a loving lady like Gina in their family, they are blessed😍!
Thank you, you are wonderful!

Normally YTube comments are filled with rubbish, the comments on this channel are beautiful. Everyone here loves you Nona Gina. Thank you for sharing!
Jiuiu .
My name, Gina, as well. I LOVE her because she sounds exactly like my mother, who was born in Pescara, Italy, and immigrated to the US!!! When I see her cook and hear her accent, I could almost cry she reminds me so much of my mother long ago deceased. Keep cooking Gina.
Reminds me of my nanny, even not related. Remembering the care and love, same vibe. ❤
You mom in peace and rest, God bless you and your family, you right she is very very sweet God bless her 💐💐
Prayers for your son-in-law's quick recovery. And prayers for you too Gina. Thank you to you're family for sharing you with all of us. God bless you all.
Gina = grandma goals. I hope by the time I'm a grandma I'm as ridiculously adorable as she is! ❤
I absolutely love Tiramisu, but even more than that, I love this woman and her accent
I just adore you Gina .. you make me smile everytime.. bless you .
This woman is so precious, I almost lost it when she started singing. I wanted to leap through the video and hug her. What an angel. May God Bless her for many years to come. And, thank you for this beautiful video.
Nona Gina, you are a treasure. Thank you to you and your family for sharing your knowledge and talents with us and posterity. Your tiramisu is, hands down, the best dessert I’ve ever made. I always credit you when I receive rave reviews from everyone. I absolutely adore you.
I love how she puts the cocoa powder and keeps saying, "that's enough, that's enough", but keeps putting more.
I just found your channel and God bless you for doing this. I hope you realize that you are making instructional videos that are not only showing us now how an Italian Grandma makes classic Italian dishes but it's going to be showing people for hundreds of years as well!!! In 400 years someone is going to make Tiramisu while watching this video! It just blows my mind, and God bless youtube as well because if you do a few searches you can find Chinese Grandmas, Lebanese Grandmas, every ethnicity with a cooking channel....Amazing times we're living in...
I love her no nonsense way of showing us how to make things!❤
Gina, I am so thankful for this recipe. I’m going to make for my husband, it’s his favorite! June we celebrate 30 years married so I will surprise him with it! Thank you for teaching us the good home cooking. You are so happy to watch! I hope your son in law has a quick recovery, we need him to make more videos of you cooking your delicious foods! I make your chicken cacciatore all the time, and I just smile and sing while making it! Hugs and happy Easter!
Thank you Gina for showing how to make Tira mi su. Hope your son in law has a successful surgery. Our prayers are with him.🙏🙏🙏

Penny Piper, when you know what you are doing and you LOVE what you are doing... no fancy utensils needed.

I wish that my Grandma was still alive to spoil us with lovely treats and desserts. I love your work Italian Grandma!❤ Can watch you all day long!

My Wife is from Chicago *(moved to Texas 35 years ago) and reminisces about her Italian Grandmother everytime Mama Gina cooks and sings. Its Friday night here now and we're both smiling and craving Tiramisu! xoxoxo

God bless Gina. Prayers for your son in law.
This is the best recipe of tiramisù I've learned, because the eggs are pasteurized, not raw as in the common recipes. Nonna Gina is absolutely great.
Yes, thank you. For this fabulous recipe, so clear.
For your sparkling miscivious eyes😚

Im African. Growing up with a mom with a heavy accent allows you to listen...better. Tried this and it came out beautifully delicious.
HAPPY EASTER Mama Gina!
if anyone might find it helpful but actually Pavesini are a very different type of biscuit, smaller, crunchy, less spongy and with more sugar, they are used to make tiramisù in Italy but they are completely different from the ones Gina is using. The one she is using are called Savoiardi (lady finger). Love this channel, I am so happy you guys are putting all this knowledge online for everyone to learn, I would never want these traditions to be forgotten, she reminds me a lot of my grandma!!!!
These are called savoiardi or biscotti aal'uovo, the pavesini are different, and yes in italy they buy them for small children,
When I see her cooking my heart feels a strange sensation joy and happiness. It is a strange sensation, since I have not felt it for over more than two decades.
user not found is it comfort?

Didn‘t know you can love someone you don‘t know 🥰 She is lovely, cute, just AW! I miss my nana ❤️ Stay save people, be gratefull for what you have and that you have the luxury of spending time with your family!
I always liked Italian Grand Mothers and I'm a Black Woman. I learned how to cook some authentic Italian food from 2 of them. Tiramisu is one of My favorite Italian dessert.
Nobody got time for this these days. My grandma is Armenian and would spend hours cooking. Now you can't even have a conversation with anyone without being interrupted by a text or call. No one goes to anyone's house for coffee and cake, no one has time for real community. Everything is drive by.Thanks Grandma , for a breath of fresh air.
InHislove well said !!
@ InHisl...
I "hear" you but you know what? You don't make the time for it! By myself, I don't live like that. Friends are always welcome over and they know it. We hve coffee, meals, sometimes we cook meals together. At least make time for dinner together!
I just put my phone away and "find" time 😊😊
You gotta make time for it that’s all
😢
What a delightful woman! Delightful, delightful, delightful!
