Basically every computer server, router, switch, and network device is running Unix or a variant of it. As is every Mac computer, every smartphone, and pretty much every "smart" home appliance. Also: Y2K wasn't a major problem because a huge amount of work was done behind the scenes updating computer systems in preparation for it. That work went largely unnoticed by the general population, so when nothing especially happened on the big night, it created this perception that Y2K wasn't a big deal. It could have been, but wasn't. The scary thing now is that the people in charge of big businesses now or over the next decade will be people who remember the "Y2K flop", and view it was something like a hoax. When their IT teams come to them and present the Unix Epoch issue as "Like Y2K again", there's a real danger that they'll be dismissed out of hand, and the work which prevented disaster in 2000 will not be done to prevent it in 2038.
I'm hoping for a SEASONS GREETINGS in about 3 weeks time. 😂
Well let's see what Father Christmas brings shall we? We hope you've been a good boy this year!

Always nice to read info from a listener who actually knows something about these things!
So funny
