Hi Adam. Thank you for this video. I ran across a tutorial using Chat Engine and I believe this might be what I use to get the chat part of my app up and running. I’m currently using firebase for authentication so I’m hoping integration is pretty straightforward. Thanks for taking the time to inform us about how your product works. Great job!

And also I wanna say that you are not the worst programmer like you said in the video, you are a great programmer as well, and it is because of all of the great guys like you that our lives are getting better and better as well as the whole community.

Hi Adam, I just created an account to start developing with Chat Engine ... but this is what I found ... 1) Pricing says it's free for development, but when I tried to create a project it says that 10-day trial and after it will be $7/mo which is not mentioned on the pricing page. 2) Pricing page also promises email support, but it is totally missing ... there is no way to contact anyone anywhere in the portal when anyone is logged in. 3) In this video, you mention that we should be able to contact you via Chat, but there is no sign of any sort of chat support on this App or Portal. 4) I even tried to pay for an upgrade and guess what, there is no place to do so either ... so plz tell us what is happening. Is this a real business you are running? Are you even alive? Is this project abandoned and told no one? Is there any future for this Project? I'm writing this message here cuz there is no other way to communicate with anyone related to this Project ... Please help us ... correct me if I'm wrong!!!

@@adam_la_morre I agree. But what about the hypocrisy? When your pricing page promises a free service but asks for money right away? At least, remove that BS from your pricing ... right?
Also, how about the direct chat with you that you promise in this very video? That seems to be totally missing ... plus the email support that's promised but no email address has been given anywhere in the portal ... how about that? So you see, the service is not confusing ... it's all about the false promises

Hi Adam, I have a problem when im start my web, "its says Your credentials are incorrect. Make sure your Project ID, Username, and Password are correct here.", even though its password, id and username is correct
Ok so i have a question. In a tutorial i saw that the chatEngine component has a prop called hideUI and if you set that prop to true, the entire UI of the chat Engine would disappear. I tried to do the same thing but nothing happened. The UI is Still there. Could you please explain to me why it's not working?
Yeah that prop is now gone, instead you just use the ChatSocket component it's the same thing really - chatengine.io/docs/sockets

Let's say that you already have a project with e.g React JSS or styled components (CSS-in-JS) and want to edit the UI. How does it work when you have to use classes.example e.g to style within your styles.js? Or do I still have to use a normal css-file to override original styling?
For chat engine components, you just use your normal css-file to override original styling
Alright, just making sure since Im not that experienced. Its not possible to do it with JSS?
@@linnea2345 Not unless you clone all the code and open it up - which isn't practical here. You'll need to hook in with a higher level css file

Is only React specific or would i be able to use it with Angular or other ui frameworks??
Does this work with React Native? I saw an old npm package but I don’t think it’s still maintained.
I don't maintain anything so I assume no. The APIs still work with react native you would need to build the UI for now. Or connect the server to GiftedChat 👍
Is there a way to manipulate the texts? Say someone types in english we translate it to spanish in the backend and then display the translated text?
Hey buddy i also wanted to ask. Is there a way to edit user details in chat engine? For example, if a user wants to change His first name or last name, is there an API call that can set those details?
