  • Pay attention to the video not the noises behind (Ram mandir wa inaugrated on the day of this recording). I could not avoid these noises as video editors are not working so well on my Compaq Presario CQ42 laptop nowadays.
In this video I have explained he part on a PC motherboard where the PC console's front panel's on-off switch, HDD light, power on light & reset button wires are connected on the motherboard. This video will make it very easy to understand it.
In this video there is a close up of the pins so you can get to see the colors on the base. These colors are important because the pins sometimes change their position on the motherboards but the base colors remain the same.
Almost all intel motherboards will have minimum four wires coming from front panel these will be for 1.) on-off switch (redish color base on motherboard watch in video), 2.) reset switch (wire goes to the violet base on motherboard refer video), 3.) Power LED (goes to the green base), 4. HDD LED (goes to the yellowih-orange base). Remember that LEDs are polarity sensitive. So if you don't get the connection right the first time then reverse the leads then remember for all pins which side is marked/labelled. By now you must have noticed the color of wires that are coming from the front panel are also similar but you should check where they are coming from physically also.
There can also be speaker wire, USB wire, etc coming from front panel but that we will deal seperately in another video as the speaker was not so common from front panel in most cases; USB was there in lots of PC's front panel but it is easy to find where to connect as USB is written on motherboards.
