Anyone thinking Dyche was a doing a good job I suspect have just seen us in highlights, not full matches. Any coach in the world in the world can be 'defensively sound' when they completely abandon the other half of the game. We do not have good players, and we do not expect to see free-flowing football, but we want to be going forward with some belief. Dyche was petrified of being caught in transition, so he restricted our players to playing as safe as possible - 10 men behind the ball, hoof it forward to an isolated striker, hope to win a free kick/corner and score from that. We're grateful for him steering us through the last two years, but this season was his chance to build and improve, he simply didn't take it.
Its easy for people without all the details to look in from the outside and think Dyche is a safe pair of hands etc. But there are some reasons why that isnt the case. The main one being he was out of contract in the summer and knew he wouldnt be kept on. Would he give his all to Everton knowing that? And the stats were damning the lack of goals and wins, the players looking berift of confidence. Lastly Moyes would be an upgrade as hes achieved far more in the game and knows the club. And most importantly Moyes has the carrot of taking the team into the new ground. Dyche knew he wasnt getting that.
Mourinho "not good enough" for Everton 😂 Jose would've won a trophy for every club he's managed since Porto if Spurs being Spurs hadn't sack him before a final.
first caller is missing the point regarding the unhappiness with Moyes, not to do with his ability its the nature of him leaving and his attitude towards to club in the years after he left.
he was there for 11 years, the United job at that moment was the biggest job in the land, league champions again and following the greatest ever manager. Was he supose to stay Everton manager until hes 70?
@ thanks for your input but I am actually happy with the appointment and a Moyes fan - your another one that obviously does not understand what went on when he left
@@EFC596 yeah i do ive heard the claims and i dont care and these fans calling in getting uptight over it need to just get over it, im happy hes back where he belongs and hopefully he can make it a strong group again fighting for the club
1st Caller 100% correct. We are utterly deluded to think we deserve any better right now. Our team is shocking… only a few decent players, rest are very poor.
Not at all, we have good players, they have been criminally mismanaged though tactically by Dyche. Its like having a Porche and letting an old granny drive it; the team needs the freedom to expand and be attacking, ideally with 2 strikers.
the team got 48 points last season with Ndiaye Iroegbaum (injured most of it) and Mangala and we only lost Onana who wasnt playing anyway. This team should have at least been on the same path as that. I know Harrison is not liked but will we see him ever play on the left to really judge him as dont think hes played one game on the right position for him
I probably would have kept Dyche until the end of the season as sacking him at this point is a massive risk. If they don’t get the next appointment right they could be in massive trouble.
Basically; the Friedkins had that in mind too but Dyche’s comments basically made then feel like he was resigning and that he was incapable of doing any better than he is which is partially why they pulled the trigger. Apparently he told the Friedkins he can’t do any better this season and this is as far as he could take us. So 3 wins in 19 is as far as he could take us according to him, and on the verge of being relegated with the form we are in Honestly I can tell you either way its a risk because with him we were going down. Never look like scoring, never create any chances, opposition have found us out now and we can’t win games. We were definitely going down with him as Ipswich start to pick up form and look like a good outfit. Especially combine that with Dyche’s defeatist view that he was giving the owners; and he was losing the fans, it had to be done. Moyes apparently is coming in now looks like it. I would much rather Moyesy in, knows the club like a book, would bring positivity back, and has had experience in relegation battles he’s perfect to help steer us back into some level of form and keep us up imo Also another bit of info, seems like the players felt like Dyche’s time was up this week. The papers had said his demeanour had changed towards the players and they were feeling alienated under him. That has a big impact too. Once the players have lost it with a manager its over and its hard to come back from that
You have obviously not looked at Dyche's awful stats then. Its absolutely woeful and I'm surprised he wasn't sacked earlier. He WAS taking us down based purely on those stats. He needed sacking.
@ I agree he needed to go. As a club he def wasn’t taking you forward. He was consolidating you as the next Burnley. My only point is it’s dangerous to dump him half way through the season. You should have got rid of him last summer but the owners wanted to sell and didn’t care about the team. How do you feel about Moyes coming back?
I dont know what he was like on the left, but Everton have never played him on the left so how can you judge him when hes playing on his unnatural side
Let's face it. If he hadn't of ran off to Manu the way he did, there would be no issue. The problem is that too many fans take things to heart. Try using your head instead.
I agree with this caller! Our squad of players are high championship maximum 🤣 they are garbage group of players. Only Pickford tarky ndiaye mangela jarrad could play in the prem rest are so poor
As a neutral I tuned in to watch what Everton looked like after sacking Dyche and seeing that they went to a more fluid-looking 3 at the back...... and I have to say considering they were up against a lower League One team they looked truly awful 😂 It's hard to see how they will score any goals whatsoever against Prem opposition, let alone win a game. After securing 3 draws in a row against City, Arsenal, Chelsea surely their best bet was to scrape survival for another season and start again next year. I genuinely think they might slump and get relegated 😲

Our squad isn’t actually that bad though. Toothless up front but Pickford, Branthwaite, Tarks and Ndiaye are decent.
