I have it even more easy. Make boom with one end a loop with a crimp. Other end a loop with a quickchange in it, also crimped. Than make a chod, lots of them. Also crimped. Attach chod to the boom using the quickchange. I use a 4mm rubber bump to fix chod to boom and one to fix boom to mainline/leader. This way i can quickly change my hook when i want. + i use same chog part for a chod rig. Which is very handy.
I found the simplest way was tie the swivel first & use a whipping knot. But each to their own. Have used it with a soft coated boom if the bottoms a bit choddy with great effect.
