is anyone else baffled at how he managed to keep his left hand in perfect time while doing the slow to fast guitar part? That’s incredibly difficult to do
No sir, it’s expected of a trained level 6 pianist. This performer has trained, although not extensively as can be seen in the bridge of his wrist. His natural ability, however, is immense!
@@renelpatat i get that a highly skilled pianist can play in 2 different times with his/her hands but i’ve never seen anyone keep the time with 1 hand while going thru like 15 different times from slow to fast with the other hand. I’m a drummer so i know about timing and playing in 2 different times but what is done in this video is something i’ve never seen before
Not to take away from the level of skill and training this pianist has - but at a certain level you are relying on a level of muscle memory in each hand. It's how you can train yourself to play very different pieces with your left and right hand. There's some added benefit that the tripleted guitar section does have an underlying beat to it that can sync up in places with the bass line. You can see it in the performance where he turns his attention to the left hand during the right hand triplet section, shifting the muscle memory to his right hand. This is like watching the amazing things athletes do during the olympics. It's incredible what humanity is capable of.
A piano virtuoso performing for free, and sadly people just walk by and ignore him like the music was coming from a radio. Blows my mind! This dude is incredible!!!
I've said as much on other videos of his. How can anyone pass this by? If I were in a mall and someone was cranking out that music, I would plant myself there all day. If I were with anyone, I'd tell them to go have fun; they would know where to find me. 🙂
All that while standing up... This guy is awesome... I've been playing guitar for 20 years and people have no idea what goes into this performance... Excellent 👍
This set is in a shopping centre in Lisbon. How is it possible that people are walking passing and don’t stop for this amazing show. Culture is definitely not for anyone
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that he played half the song with his eyes closed or staring at the ceiling? Big props to you bro, from one pianist to another, this is absolutely insane 👏
Holy crap! What a find! As a composer, author and 75 yr young fun guy..... DON'T STOP BELIEVING! A true prodigy! To me sad, so often folks just let their phone take in the tune that is meant for their mind, heart, soul and dancing enjoyment. Brilliant! 😊❤
Unbelievable talent… literally brings tears to my eyes. Most of the people in that place probably don’t know the song or have the memories it brings to some of us who were there when it was new and amazing from day one.
The song was written by Jonathan Cain, Journey's keyboard player. It was based on his father telling him to "not stop believing" after he survived the Our Lady of the Angels school fire, in which 92 children and 3 nuns died. Many children went on to question their faith after the fire.
It’s the most downloaded song of the 20th century…the whole world knows it. The piano is amazing but it’s that Perry voice that makes it so epic and timeless
I was in 8th grade when this song came out. I knew the very first time I heard it that it would go down as one of the most memorable songs of all time! That was 43 years ago. I was not wrong.😊
I don't usually watch videos like this (Piano WOW!), but I love me some Journey so I was going to give it a quick listen. DAMN! I've watched this 3 times now. I have no actual clue who this guy is but he is stupid good. I will absolutely stop and listen when I see that hair jamming a piano in other videos.
As a diehard Journey fan, that was absolutely great! I don't like hearing any vocal covers of that song because in MY mind, nobody can come close to Steve Perry. But this all piano rendition was absolutely phenomenal.
O mais impressionante é a quantidade expressiva de comentários do exterior!!! Bom para esse artista ímpar q está atravessando fronteiras, lamentável por ser um termômetro de q não damos o devido valor para talentos natos como este monstro da música.
Remarkable!! Unbelievable how many people will walk right by this and not spend just a few minutes to appreciate such talent and wonderful melody. Like they really have something better to do at the mall? Baffles me and is so sad.
That's absolutely incredible! I love watching the ppls reaction to it so many zombies walk among us. Hahahahah that dad walked by with his kid and guitar and was embodied with envy 😂😂
This is impressive. I took piano lessons as a kid and now I’m getting back into it as an adult. This would take me months/years to play as well as he does here. Well done!
Had I been in that mall and anywhere close enough to hear it, I would have made my way there. Don't Stop Believin' is one of my favorite songs and know all the words. I don't sing in public because my singing voice stinks, but I would have singing it in my head!!!
Wow! Grew up with a piano mom and I can play a few chords. That was simply incredible. I kept wanting you to start singing. To play the background music and vocal arrangement is talent.
You never disappoint! This evening I hooked up my old usb piano to my sons Chromebook and showed them how to play. Nothing like this! 😀. I would love to show them this kind of performance in real life. Perhaps one day we will witness this together. Much respects. Greetings from Denmark.
Watching you play some of these songs shows how complex "simple rock n roll" or "pop" songs are musically. It breaks down these songs so well. Awesome as always, Cheers from the Jersey Shore.
I keep returning to this awesome performance. You have true talent, my friend. You should be giving concerts. This guy is amazing! He doesn't only play the piano part, he articulates the whole song!
No words

This is how music was meant to be played! lyrics, notes, Passion.
He’s hot too. Bet he’s glad he went to all his piano lessons growing up.
Best piano version I’ve heard in my 64 years!
Same. I'm 64 too!

He plays the piano like a metal guitarist. I absolutely love this!
It would be so awesome if Steve Perry just casually walked by and started singing. ✌🖖👍
I don't think people have an appreciation for how difficult it is to play a musical instrument that well.
The difficult part is all the hard work you put in to get that good
As a pianist and professional composer, It's fine. It's not amazing though. Check out Yuja Wang to get some kind of perspective.
He’s playing a song that’s been played over and over and over again. Nothing original here.
@@CIA-m1v, I thought his name was Sukma Wang?
I do he is fantastic
Dude played BIG! Brought the energy of the whole band into his performance.
Totally agree. Look at the way he stands, like he has to stabilize himself with the level of enthusiasm he's tickling those ivory keys with.
@@BilllieverMinistry watch his right foot, there was more to it than looking cool.
This is possibly the best piano version I have ever heard! Who is this man!? He is unbelievable! How is the crowd NOT singing along!?
Because it takes place in Brazil, where people doesn't know English, so they're ashamed singing international songs.
They should know the song regardless.
Just what this track needed: a bunch of people belting out a karaoke rendition.
Não pertence a geração deles! São funkeiros......kkkkkk

I can hear Steve Perry singing in my head! Excellent performance. Thank you.
Tell it ! 😊 The smell of wine and cheap perfume !
Im singing aloud. No shame here 😆
I am too. And I'm in bed. Lol
That would be one hell of a duet of him singing with piano rock

@@Prof_JeffDam Right Proff , I’d be creaming my pants !
People are ignorant, they just dont care and dont appreciate the art, because such music, such playing IS art! 🎉❤💪
my bigger saddness comes from the people recording without a smile on their face
A masterpiece, performed for about 8 people that paid consistent attention. What a shame. This guy is AMAZING! You go, Glaucio!!!
And they were probably paid because it would be really sad if nobody watched.
I don't know how you managed to play the right and left hand at different tempos at the same time. Brilliantly played!
Practice?
Have you ever watched somebody play the piano before? It's a pretty fundamental aspect.
Wow! JustWow!! Killing it softly brother killing it softly. Keep up the great work man sending good vibes from West Coast Canada….🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💥🇨🇦💨

She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy

For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on, and on, and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights, people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on, and on, and on
