3 Hip Flexor Stretches for SIJ Pain

  • Struggling with SI joint pain? We’ve got a few of our favorite stretches to show you today! 🫠
    The kneeling double quad stretch is modifiable for any ability. Start by evenly distributing your weight throughout your shins and tops of your ankles/feet. Use extra padding if needed. Anchor a band in front of you and use it for support as you hinge back. Go as far back as is comfortable. Keep your body in a nice, aligned position. Try activating the glute and transverse abdominal muscles to intensify the stretch. Repeat.🔁
    For the hip flexor stretch, start with one shin on the ground and the other foot on the floor with the knees in 90 degree angles. Tuck the pelvis under and maintain that position as you lean weight forward into the front leg. Try exhaling into the stretch. Repeat. 🔁
    The windshield wiper stretch begins on the back with knees bent and feet on the floor. Feet should be a bit wider than knees and knees a bit wider than hips. Again tuck the pelvis and draw the TA in. Gently let the knees fall to one side on an exhale. Inhale back through the center and let them fall slowly to the other side. Repeat. 🔁

    hi, i have very tight and painful hip and hamstrings due to multiple sclerosis and was advised to start stretching, would those exercises benefit me, and how much should i do them a day, thank you
