I honestly love how every single character evokes a sense of “hey I recognize that from overwatch! But what the fuck is THAT!?” Like storm, I recognize that from Lucio! But wait it does LIGHTNING damage!? WHAT!? So cool. Hulk is basically Dva and Winston in one!? What!?!? So cool.
same. and i really dont care that it relates to overwatch because if they can balance this game properly, it might be a new main for me, at this point, if you're gonna copy another game, do it right and make it better, im not about to get butthurt about that. only thing i'm worried about is cheating, because it feels like almost every online game is riddled with it compared to a few years ago, especially with the prevalence of DMA cheats.

As someone who loved Bastion back in 2017 The Punisher is already my main except hopefully I don’t get death threats for playing him.

They all look so OP that IDK how they are gonna balance everything. Seems like a lot of ways to instantly die from other abilities, I dont think survivability will be easy.

@@booger4627 im aware ive played several alphas. Not yet seen a whole kit or animation change. And you guys let these words fool yall for example COD drops a “beta” 2 weeks before the game thats not a beta.
Games like these especially mobas wont capture the characters full potential. I actually like storms skills, and i think they suit her well especially in a game like this.

Yeah, same here. It's bordering on a sin that The Punisher hasn't had a good game in such a long time. The last time I played him was in a mod for Max Payne 2, back in the day. But, come on, give us _something_ here! I *do* like his design in this game, though. He's an absolute machine. Can't wait for Daredevil: Born Again!
you say that the shield for doctor strange has 1600hp which it appears to have on other clips but during the shield showcase it only had 800 as well with the gamma boost it had 800 so whats going on there?

I think the devs should give the Dr.Strange ability where he charges dark energy for big dmg. That just makes more sense on Black Panther than Strange lore wise and role responsibility.
Strange should have more sustain or CC as a Vanguard assuming their responsibility is to pressure and hold space.
Black Panther can gather kinetic energy by taking dmg and do crazy burst. It looks like they want him to be a dive champ so it would make sense to me to do something like that to force the enemy team to respect him as a pick and focus him if they see him in the back lines.
He already has his passive which gathers kinetic energy to give him a passive dmg buff when low HP.
Now I do agree, it would have been cooler to see him use his kinetic charge for some sort of burst AOE dmg (I think a good full rework for his passive would be turning it into a kinetic energy bar that fills up when he takes dmg, regardless of his current HP or how much he is healed, and after taking 200 dmg without dying his energy bar is full, allowing him to press f on any enemy (you will be prompted once they are within range) locking onto to them and pouncing on them then doing an AOE blast with high burst dmg upon landing. Lastly I would give him CC immunity during his pounce animation, so it can be used to break CC or can be used as a finisher without being denied by CC (this would not apply to things like Eye of Aggamoto which stuns but would against roots, slows, etc.) It is an iconic scene from the movies which is another big plus.
My one change for Doctor Strange would be to turn his AOE dark energy blast into a single target siphon that deals dmg over time scaling off max HP (giving it slightly less dmg than the AOE blast against squishy 250 health heroes, and a good bit more against more tanky 500+ health characters, but a cap at max percentage dmg at 1000 hp so characters like Hulk don't get fully hard countered easily) and applies root and 30% slow over the duration of the DOT, but make it so that the siphon can be broken if you are able to move far enough away (out of its max range.) Although this significantly reduces the dmg against non-vanguards, it gives him a single target CC with an auto lock useful against fast elusive characters cutting off their escapes and slowing them, which also doubles as a scaling DMG to use against high HP vanguards who you may be dueling, and the CC doesn't hurt here either. The siphon is more methodically than an AOE burst dmg, which is exactly what Strange is all about, both in the game and in comics/film, methodical intelligent and innovative approaches, not random outbursts of power. Lastly, you are right, although a dark energy burst is a way to expel that energy, I think a siphon stealing life force while inflicting them with dark energy is much more fitting considering it shows the dark side of Strange which very much does exist, but is kept in check, just as you must keep your DPS and siphon cycle in check.
I disagree however that Strange should not be reward for his dmg performance when following a DPS and expel cycle, his role is that of a vanguard, not just a traditional basic tank class, he offers survivability both for himself with his health pool but also for his team with his shield, but beyond that, he brings serious cc with his AOE stun and positioning with his portals which not only create new flank routes the way Magik can, but are far more essential tools for positioning, opening new angles of attack through portals (yes you can attack through them both ways), creating lines of sight for backline DPS to safely hide behind cover while supporting you with heavy burst when needed, or forcing enemy backlines to reposition by exposing them while they are in cover using smart lines of sight through portals. His kit isn't based on sustain, it is all about area denial and holding space, which he does by being a high dmg frontline that creates opportunities for his backline, while relying on supports for sustain. He practically brings everything you could need and more EXCEPT sustain, that is an intentionally designed weakness that forces him to use his shield and cc to help keep his primary support alive when faced with focused pushes with high burst dmg likely directed at supports, meanwhile the supports are then left to sustain Strange for the rest of the round keeping him topped up and ready for the next fight. So he should not get another sustain, even though I think a second very different type of CC would be appreciated in his kit.
@@ghostbravo7127 I think the way you described how a vanguard’s responsibility are as a role is gonna lead to role imbalance after a while, same reason GOATs meta killed OW1.
Tanks can’t be everything, it kills the necessity of the coordinating with your team. I haven’t played the game personally so idk it feels but
I did see people testing the idea out during alpha and it looks as if it might worsen if they keep up with the design philosophy of Vanguard’s with newer characters. Checks and balances between roles is important for people to understand their job on the team in most cases, idk if this’ll be the exception.
@@cornking7835 Tanks in this game are very powerful, but many heroes in this game are hybrids, such as Peni Parker (a Vanguard that is a Tank/DPS hybrid.) The other thing to note having played the game, this game is very much movement based, and while most tanks have something in their kit for either repositioning or diving, sometimes both, it is still nothing compared to what DPS (and some supports get.) The most mobile Tank, Venom, has the weakest defensive kit, and while he is a very strong dive tank because of his superior mobility WHILE being a Tank, it is compensated for with lower damage production than a true DPS, short range (which isn't a big problem due to his dive based kit), and a massive hit box. Compare that to Spider-Man, who definitely requires more skill to play than Tanks, but brings the burst dmg of a flank DPS, his hyper-mobility allows him to do more than just reposition, he has the intel on enemy pushes to help coordinate with his ground team to pressure the right choke points, he can easily enter the enemy backline, isolate an off-guard support, and take them out of the fight, then escape, and Tanks can not catch up. The same goes for Iron-Man, although his play-style differs from Spider-Man, he once again compensates for the lower health and zoning ability of a Tank, with higher DPS and hyper-mobility. Human Torch is coming relatively soon and he was described to me as an aerial threat like Iron-Man, but with a zoning and aerial denial focus as opposed to Iron-Man's more traditional DPS role, with Human Torch punishing Tanks for not being mobile and really having the ability to use his area denial to shape how and where they reposition, setting his team up for success.
Supports feel the least balanced amongst each other, with some able to carry an entire team, and others being the weakest link, relying very heavily on others. That being said, Supports like Loki and Adam Warlock, are game changing and on good teams, are arguably the most important piece on the board.
I see the standard game comp being: 2 Vanguards (including a primary Tank), 1 Duelist (I see hyper-mobile duelists being the meta at the highest levels of the game), 1 support (a support carry is going to be the core of most teams and people will build around it), and 1 flex (usually a hybrid of some sort, if you are running punisher at DPS then you might bring Rocket at Flex to play a supportive DPS role, with both holding off-angles, the Rocket in this case not only increases Punisher's DPS, but also keeps his health topped up, freeing up the primary support and allowing Punisher to go deeper into enemy territory despite his lack of mobility as a duelist, I'm sure you will also find GOATs style lineups with 2 primary tanks and a Spider-Man (Duelist) + Venom (Flex) diving duo. But if you are running Adam Warlock, all of a sudden running Spider-Man and Venom as a duo doesn't make sense since you would be foolish to not run Star-Lord as your DPS, and Adam Himself is a Flex based around maintaining attacking momentum, so Mantis despite being the weakest part of this combo, is still worth bringing as your healing Support, simply due to how she pairs with Adam. In an Adam team comp, the 2 tank spots are the only open ones, and may be filled by a combo like Hulk and Strange.)
From what I've gathered speaking to devs, they really want to go with an almost classless system, and really do not want to limit the roles of specific heroes more than they have to. But have settled on a middle ground of 3 general archetypes, although the goal is for most heroes to be some sort of hybrid, allowing players to explore different team comps. Even the team-up mechanic, which I argued worked against their goals, are carefully balanced to create duos and trios that can fit into different team comps, allowing for a type of modular team comp design, but they also mentioned that while there are these essential duos who you'd be unwise not to play together, they have and will continue to add plenty of more flexible classes, that are not reliant on duos or trios, and have stronger kits paired with a weaker team-up which can be ignored completely if you wish to run them in other comps, with the key example being Groot.
I have some of the same concerns as you in terms of balancing, but at the same time, I see that what they are doing with character design and mechanics, is innovative for the Hero shooter genre, and should not be limited. I think letting the metas grow naturally for a while with only fine tuning is the way to go, at least for heroes that are unique and offer new exciting play-styles and mechanics, and heroes that are not as exciting and don't offer interesting mechanics, can always be reworked in beta stages to get on par with their alternatives. As for class balancing, I think that large scale balancing should wait until a more complete roster is available, as we do not even have all the standard anti-tank DPS play-styles available in most hero shooters yet, which will inevitably change the in-game balance of tanks.

Goats was never a difficult problem to solve. The overwatch balance team just sucks so they resorted to cop out role lock. The fact that these guys are rolling with open queue likely means they already have a solution to goats.

Im glad the devs had fun trying to fully realize the characters and make the abilities lore accurate first: but hulk, punisher and Spiderman are absolutely ridiculous and are gonna get nerfed to the ground
Hulk having 2 form swaps it just dumb and going to be impossible to balance same as spiderman having twice as many abilities as everyone else to access the level of mobility he has in his home game
They should have staggered out the types of mobility available and given them to different spidermen instead of making Spiderman such an OP power fantasy BC he's gonna feel so much worse when they realize his balance is unacceptable

There's not a release date for the full game yet and they haven't officially confirmed that it will be on Consoles.

Spider-Man has a high skill gap, this is why it's a 5 star difficulty hero due to his mobility mechanics and combos, MOST people will SUCK with the character even though a lot of them will try to play him, he looks cool, but not very useful in the hands of those who don't get the melee / distance mechanics, a few other characters are MUCH easier to play with
Maybe Loki should be a 6 star difficulty.
i think people need to also keep in mind that lower hp characters have less room for error, moveset isn't the full story
It's like Spy in TF2. He has a high skill ceiling. But once you practice, and learn him, you could go around and pub stomp.

Most of the Marvel MCU is their own multiverse with it's own rules and changes aside from comics, series, games and the rest of the media.
Literally the eye of Agamotto having the time stone is something invented just for the MCU, I don't recall the Infinity stones having anything in common with the Eye of Agamotto in any other media since Dr Strange was born.
The same goes for a looot of other things. MCU spiderman is way younger than most versions of Spidey in other media, he's not even working for JJJameson like usual. MCU Scarlet Witch is like an original character of its own, for more than 30 years she was known as Magneto's daughter, then it was descanonized, but it seems this games takes that old canon again and for such reason they both have a teamup... There are many examples, but you get the idea,
This game came out the jump beating the OW2 copy allegations and I'm here for it. Low End pc gang is begging for a console release

Let’s be for real though, this game would have worked best as a DC game instead of marvel.
