Having only been to California once during Sep. 2022, I experienced that grueling heatwave in early September. From what I re-called, the State of California came extremely close to a state-wide blackout. Then there are these people calling for the shutdown representing 8-9% of California’s clean electricity generation.
I’m from the UK, so I don’t feel like I have much to contribute to local California issues. Then again, all I hope for is that the lost generating capacities from closing down California’s sole nuclear energy station will not be replaced by natural gas, which is perceived by some as “clean and green.”
