Thank you. I've watched several videos so far and I'll be making the one you built. I was a sheetmetal tech in the Navy. Loved the fingerbreak action, and how simple your design is. And love that you show it works.
This is a very well done video! Informative, entertaining, you managed to narrate it and yet still tell a story. Sewing machines AND a sheet metal work... amazing, thank you.
Hi my name is Bea. And as I am a Carpenter, I use CarpenterBea as an Acountname once in a while... Did not know them Bees make such big holes.I guess that fits me too😂 I like this (w)hole Video a lot👍. ..And the Conversation with your buddy you took in. Greetings from Germany
Ingenious idea to catch carpenter 🐝 bees. Fortunately, I don’t think we have them here, yet, but climate change is affecting everything. Thanks for the demonstration. I’d like to have a shop like yours with all that space and all those tools. You have a great set-up there to do almost anything. I enjoy your videos the most.
Now when I see a new post for an Alexander Dyer video, I just watch it. I don't even care about carpenter ants and pool decks...but you hooked me with your story style and technique in delivery, always improving. You inspire thought process for the creative problem solver. Cheers from a textile artist who started watching your sewing machine videos.
He really spends a lot of time on the editing even on the sewing videos. There are so many split clips in there. you can tell he is very picky about his work including the edits.
Man you spend some mad time on your edits. I do mine in a very short time. Not as involved as you do. I shoot in 4k on my 3 android phones. They have really good image stabilization. and do the edits with Klinemaster editing software on the phone. Comes out pretty nice for such short time spent. But really appreciate the time you spend I can tell the clips are spot on and super artsy. Camera angles and focus ins split right at the perfect time. And the stuff you make is so well done. Very nice work. Even if some of the videos dont get that much watch time. I appreciate your edits.
Carpenter bee's are pollinators just like the honey bee, is there not another way to get rid of them without killing them? Considering the decline of bee's and them being necessary to pollinate vegetation so we can eat, alternative methods must be found to prevent your problem while keeping them alive. ucanr.edu/blogs/blogcore/postdetail.cfm?postnum=8049
This IS the conscientious alternative. It only eliminates the 12 or so bees that have chosen my deck as their nesting ground. This is the alternative to the indiscriminate killing of billions of bees worldwide with pesticides. I do not use poison to kill bees or grubs either. My yard continues to have literally thousands of bees of all types including the carpenter bees which reside on the property that is not my deck. There is one other alternative, you send me the $2,500 to replace my deck and I will put away the trap.
@@AlexanderDyer LOL wish I had that much. What I don't see in the video is what happens after they are caught. Different places have different options, so is there an organization that can take them and release them somewhere safer for both sides of this problem, and won't cost you money?
I am surrounded by thousands of uninhabited acres. Largely farm land and rolling hills filled with hard wood trees. It is bee heaven. That is where billions of bees live today. Honey Bees, Carpenter Bees, Sweat Bees, more bees than I know the names of. My locust trees audibly hum in the spring when in bloom, each tree covered in thousand of bees of many species. It is not an organization, it is Missouri, check it out.
Well to educate you a bit, carpenter bees are native to USA and there are in danger! Please instead of traps, build a Hotel for them! Restore a natural pollinators!

Simple and to the point without 30 minutes of BS I'm not interested in. Thanks
I try to keep the BS to a minimum in all my videos.😄
Loved the light song! Aaah! Your pretty handy to have around! Bee’s check in but they don’t check out! Lol

MUCH MORE WORK THAN IT TAKES TO BUILT THE TRAP. MOST PEOPLE HAVE NEITHER THE TIME NOR ALL THE EQUIPMENT YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR TRAP.

Your Sir are a god damn genius !!!! loved the light-sound effect , hehe :) !!!! Awesome !!!!
I Yike it.
When you broke out the brake for this, I peed a little, lol! Nice job!
Next trap would be for Original Gangster lol

Pexto

One of us must not understand the use of lol.
I hope you are not going to kill those bees.
Was there any catfish?
Not that time. But you know what they say. "That is why it is called fishing rather than catching"
Use those bees for catfish bait! Cycle of life 'n all.
