Just got my rig on the road a month or so ago .. 2022 Tacoma TRD OffRoad with the 4 Wheel Camper Swift model. Still learning the in's and out's of having a camper whereas I've been camping out of my old Ford Explorer and more recently a Subaru Crosstrek. My truck weighed in at 4680 lbs .. with the camper 6100 lbs! Been getting 16/18 mpg on average .. wind kills me and will knock me down into the 12 and 13's. 🤠

Congrats on your new rig! Sounds like a great set-up. It definitely takes some getting used to, but we love the space. That’s pretty good for gas mileage too! We average closer to 12-14 mpg. Have fun in your Swift! 🍻

Hey Brian, do you think you will, perhaps one day, complete a video about your rig?

Hi Morgan, average MPG was 10-15. Luckily gas was much less expensive in MT/WY than we are used to in NV, but still not great.

Nice I was going to ask too. I’ve got the same rig and camper and get about 12 city and 12.7 freeway with 33 BFG KO2’s Northern California roads.

Definitely not great, but we consider it a small price to pay for our camper we can take just about anywhere. Cheers road friend!

Can you take your dogs on trails in a National Park?
    Thanks for the great video!

Thanks for the feedback and watching! Unfortunately you can’t take dogs on any real hiking trails in NPs. They’re pretty limited to where they can go, so we’ll make sure they’re nice and comfy in the camper if we decide to do a quick hike. If we really plan on doing big hikes on NP trips, we leave the pups at home with a sitter. It’s a bummer, but totally understand why it’s necessary to preserve the beautiful areas and fauna.

You can deter bears from entering your camp site with a portable electric bear fence. Small kit that brings huge peace of mind.

Thanks for the tip! Since we had our dog with us, we weren’t that worried. He would definitely let us know if we had a visitor. 😉

Why must every overlander fill footage with their culinary repressed chef fetishes. Nothing more creative to add?

Sorry it put a bad taste in your mouth 🤣 We like capturing the whole experience (food included) and hopefully inspire others to get out there and do the same. Cheers!

@AdventureOutThere very positive response! I'm so glad you enjoyed your whole vacation, dinners and all. Some people who don't do this may not understand that the cooking out is part of enjoying the campfire and camping thing. You don't see the RV people, who spend all their time watching movies indoors (most do the outdoor thing, but ive seen a few who fit this description), making such great videos. Cheers and happy (and safe!) travels! 😊
