its just a typical motivation story. you think if you follow his ways, you can become the next millionaire?? that's not gonna happen. if you don't believe me, quit your job right right and do what you want, i bet in 2 years you will become a poor beggar
Sitting in my dorm room in Germany, I landed on this video randomly without knowing who Varun was. Then I realized who he was and that I was wearing his hoodie!
see, half of us Indian's dreams are shattered due to parents or these anu aunty characters! i am doing engineering (which is giving me a really really hard time) with a dream of doing something else, and this guy gave me immense hope and confidence to do what i love, great video!
Hats off *Varun Agarwal* .What an amazing story ! Really really inspiring. Epic lines are "In India if you are not an Engineer, then you are a terrorist" & "If you don't work in Infosys, then you don't get dowry" :p I can relate so much with his story. People in my family are also over-thinkers & I was also taught the same. They thought about everything when I was born. Their plan worked quite well as they got me admitted to 2 of West Bengal's premiere institutes - Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission (class V to X) & BESU (Shibpur BE college).for Engineering. But then when I decided to discontinue my further study (I hated Engineering too!) & pursue my passion of Entrepreneurship, my family went in shock! Even after 7 years, I have remind them often that there is a difference between being unemployed & self-employed. Went through lots of dramas, faced financial crisis too. But you know everything is worth when you can do what you love every moment of your life.
you know what beside all the achievement of your life the best part is that you are really a very good speaker coz i was not in a mood of watching a speech video but your magnetism rocks
these type of people prove that " failure is stepping stone to success" provided you have the self confidence, honesty and the guts to follow the thought . Really inspiring for people like me who have failed but still try with a positive thought...!!!!
A very perfect story that is true for many Bangaloreans. I have the very same happened to me when I was 7 yr old in 1967... I lived with the promise I made to my dad, went against my doctor uncle and is living my dreams even today at 62 plus.... Just do what you love to do.
i can never live a life that i don't want to live but i live a life that some one else wanted me to live.........really heart touchig words.....greatly inspired by you varun thank you so much
Everyone put these words, '' just follow your dreams'' simply but here I am like what to do. What's my dream and what's my goal. It's kinda blurry in my head. I cannot see a thing.
That One MOMENT is Success!! Kudos brother, you are brave, you told dont think, but your Video is gonna make many THINK deeply about NOT THINKING and following Passion.
Sir You are thinking about him, but he already told don't think. Do something new don't worry about passion it will improve if you don't think about Passion just do it will bring you up..
Hi Varun great to hear your achievements. This morning, my son Glen just told me to watch your youtube From failing in engineering to co-founding a million-dollar company talk. I was talking to my son over skype. My son is in 1st year PUC in Mangalore and I am working here in Malaysia as a Professor in Medical College. I really really agree with you"Dont think, but just do it". You are a great motivator to the younger generation through your achievemnet. Proud of you, keep going and God bless you. Dr Urban D'Souza Malaysia
This is an inspiring talk. I just hope people don't take it in wrong sense. I keep hearing people say "I don't have to worry about failed exams. I will just not think. I will be successful." . Key here is follow your passion !!
hello am a singer and at a very initial stages of my career..however am doing pretty good for myself..coz i applied the same method of dont think and just follow your heart...you are too good in conveying your message..and actually that anu aunty has really played an important part to contribute the theory of dont think in your case..anyways i kept glued to your video and its really inspiring...you really mesmerised with ur speech,,absolutely outstanding...loved it,,thanks ..
It could also mean he was in the bar. You said "he walks past the bar" which means that he was outside, which is not true, he could have been or he couldn't have been.
hey . i know this might not even be read by a few people and its probably not going to be noticed but let me take this opportunity to tell you my story . i recently failed maths in my first year engineering i literally cried myself to sleep these past few nights ...i did not do engineering because my parents told me to or because i was forced i chose it because i loved it and it amazed me ... i cant see myself doing anything besides engineering and i have many dreams apart from engineering that i want to accomplish .. i am one to think before doing things and always thinking of outcomes and possibilities rather than actually doing something ...this video has inspired me and reignited my ambitions .soon you'll see companies and buildings with my name on it ....I WILL SUCCEED AND I WONT EVEN NEED TO THINK. ....thank you
This is such a motivating and inspiring video for all who "Think" and fear of failure they stop dreaming and let their life going the way other want...
This is what i hv been preaching to my friends that the ultimate success in life is to live your life your way , living a life u always wanted too. Well , that was enlightening.
Thank you.....I'm too an Engineering student having lots of trouble in studies bcoz of my 2 yr gap..but if I succed in life...it will be becoz of u...I'll chase my dreams as far as I can...Thanks for the inspiration...!!! DeK
Brilliant guy..very unusual to find someone who with great ease manages to reform himself after a failure during engineering and look where he's today!
U nailed it Varun....proud of you that you could break those notions by showing the world that we have brilliant and successful people without they being an Engineer or Doctor. I am 35 yrs old and already one tenth of this planet calls be Anu Aunty....oops ye theek nai hua!!!
I had tears at the end...wonderful and really inspiring...I want to say only one thing...india's old and obsolete schooling system must be rejuvenated to produce the healthy people for a strong country. we are not able to do coz our schooling and social system. let us take a step towards that....Thanks Varun...god bless you....
Absolutely loved it!! Amazing inspiration for teens. ! think most of us give up before we even start because we think too much. All our energy is consumed in over thinking and finally we give up on our ideas and dreams. So please 'Stop Thinking, Just Do It'.
First up, congrats Varun on your success. Much as I hate to be raining on your parade, I'm not sure it's a very original idea. Most of the schools and colleges I know, including your own have had their personalized hoodies and Tshirts for long. Lots of companies in Tirupur including many known to me were custom manufacturing Tees and branded wear for schools and colleges. You speak really well, smart and fluent, and I think it really resonates well with the youth, but there isn't much by way of nuts and bolts here. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you for one good reason, that you backed yourself and you braved odds and opposition, and that is a message that the audience can carry for sure, but I can't seem to share your enthusiasm about your business plan. This is just my 10 paisa worth take, but having said that, last word, is nothing succeeds like success and since you've succeeded kudos to you.
Happy for India. I've been watching yes talks for a year now and suddenly I saw this. This is something that is telling me that my country was amazing and it will be amazing forever I love my India I love ink talks
Luck luck luck! I have see many people dropped out of engineering , started thier own business without thinking n with same confidence as other Sucessive businessmans but now they are living in loss..their are many many other stories..so plzz stop admiring others n be jealous..plzz don't 'Don't Think' but 'Think Different' ..
Very Inspiring talk. Indian academics drive most of the students towards Doctor and Engineering courses, even though many of their talents are else where. After engineering, I have seen many of them quitting and doing where their heart is. Slowly we should move away from herding everyone towards these streams, real life heroes like Varun are an example
He made it before all these social media influencers, I remember listening to him, he made more sense than all the influencers combined now, not sure where he is these days.
see that's very enlightining for me but i dont't know who'll make all this understand to my parents , relatives, elders, neighbours, and all those who have pinned their hopes and expectations upon me? All these guys just create so much hype about getting into an IIT
Varun bro,,, I have my call letter in my hand,& I have 2-days to get into a MNC,, but,, but,, the last words of u,, made me tear the shit piece of paper & will follow my own dream INDIAN ARMY,,,& I really really thank u,,u,,u,,, for that, I would never ever forget this moment & would never regret this "jab tak h jaan",, "jab tak h jaan" "jab tak h jaan"....
I totally agree with Varun's thought. Really Inspiring & motivating. Parents should avoid discouraging their own kids. And ofcourse, stop doubting yourself... Just do ..
In western countires all universities have their own clothing line with their name on it ( hoodies being the most common). I doubt this is a new idea, just that never happened in India. But no offence.
He still implemented an idea like that in a market with demand for it. He didn't know anything about business and still could find where the demand is and exploited it to be the man he is now.
Follow your dreams! Everyone will tell you not to risk anything, but you have to believe in yourself. Especially when going off the main path. Believe in yourself and everything will work out.
I am sure that I am not only one to see it again and again
Hell yeah, you're not!
He's just so right.
yup u r rgt
agreed !!!
and again and again and again - great story
its just a typical motivation story. you think if you follow his ways, you can become the next millionaire?? that's not gonna happen. if you don't believe me, quit your job right right and do what you want, i bet in 2 years you will become a poor beggar
It's a constant fight between security vs dreams.
5 years since you wrote this...what did you choose?
Sitting in my dorm room in Germany, I landed on this video randomly without knowing who Varun was. Then I realized who he was and that I was wearing his hoodie!
Strange world right ! I am too sitting in my company after quitting my job watching this video .
What he REALLY meant is "Don't doubt yourself", not "Don't think".
lol agreed
yupp
+humanyoda truth

+humanyoda yup....but if u think more...u vll definitely doubt urself

Although the Entire Video is Motivating but, the last 30 seconds are MIND BLOWING for Rajat's story.
Self confidence is the main part for any achievement. Great said.

In Computer Science engineering they teach you how to program Excel - not train you to work on it.
Lol true :p

One Question. What's was the KID, wearing the Cottonian hoodie, doing in a BAR? (6:45)
he walks past the bar...not in the bar. listen again kid
Tejas Kokate He says walks past us, not past the bar.
Yup that means he walked in front of their eyes.maybe they were sitting in the window when they saw that kid
It could also mean he was in the bar. You said "he walks past the bar" which means that he was outside, which is not true, he could have been or he couldn't have been.
Have you forgotten that you're living in India?
These videos make me stronger!!!! It eliminates negativity n makes me believe I CAN ACHIEVE MY DREAMS!!!!!

He didn't know anything about business and still could find where the demand is and exploited it to be the man he is now.
You are right bro, the idea wasn’t new he presented it to be his original. No offence.
A good idea copied is still a good idea
