      There is a full video somewhere on YT. These Smithsonian air videos don't tell the full story. However, this incident is well worth finding the full story video.

    ....later that night the mechanic who installed the prop is emptying his pockets and a large lock nut washer falls out of his pocket. Wife says, "Ernie, what's this?" Ernie replied, "oh crap!!!"
    Ernie's still looking for a job. He found one, repairing kids bike's!

      they manage to land with no casualties in anchorage after a long struggle to control the plane with brute force, the propeller was never found due to dropping in the ocean so it was never determined how/why it fell off in the first place

    I always thought that people with glasses are not allowed to become pilots.
    Can someone confirm?

    • @owenharrington8704
      @owenharrington8704 Год назад +3

      Hey there, people with glasses are allowed to become pilots as long as they can exhibit 20/20 vision with the glasses on and they wear the glasses at all times during flight. Contact lenses and Lasik surgery is also allowed. Color vision for pilots is somewhat more complicated. In many cases color blind individuals are limited to flying during the day in clear weather, however you still may be able to fly if you can distinctly tell signals being flashed from a light gun from a ATC tower at night. Hope this answer helps.

      I should add that these are the regulations in the US and I am not sure about other countries.
