History:
the statue of dhori mata was accidentally found on 12 june 1956 by a coal field worker name Rupa satnami from Bilaspur Chattisgarh working in the mines of jarandih Bokaro.
While excavating coal he heard a voice saying " Dhire se maro Mai yahan hun ".one of the arms of statue of mother Mary had been broken off by the axe of satnami.
Initially it was claimed to be the statue of kali since its colour was black. Some Hindu started worshipping the statue for some days. After few days statue was noticed by Christian community and found that the statue has a baby child in her arms. Only mother mary has a baby child jisus in her arms. The statue was brought and kept in the church.
The statue of dhori mata was specially blessed by Pope paul VI during his pastoral visit to Mumbai in 1964.
