great tutorial. thanks for mentioning the subgroups being mono by by choice due to constraints at the end. you may have mentioned it in the beginning, but i missed it. i spent much of the video asking myself why one would do that, but that's my ocd. i love my m32/superrack combo, and i totally find the limited number of aux busses very frustrating. it's great to see work arounds like this one being used.
hi quick question for some reason i had mains out process by superrack but no difference is happening or its not being processed im not sure what im doing wrong
I've followed the instructions here and got my groups routed through Superack, but I seem to have picked up a crackle somehow? I have toggled the rack on and off but it's there either way. I have an electronic kick drum playing through the group, and the crackle follows the beat of the drum although it isn't the sound of the signal clipping. Any ideas?
With this setup I see that the master from SuperRack is routed to outputs 15-16 from the back of the M32. Isn't there a way to route it to outputs 15-16 from the DL32? Because if i plug my mains to the DL outputs 15-16, the master from superrack doesn't work.
Before you take input from the Waves card you must set your preamps first. To do this go to Routing>Input and select the Local 1-8, 9-16, etc. (If you are not using a stagebox). If you are using a stagebox, select the channels from whichever AES A or AES B you are using. After your preamps are set switch the input to the card inputs. In this mode the Gain Control Knob wil control the digital trim instead of preamp. So it's important to set the preamps correctly from the beginning.
I've watched this 20 times and I can't get my head around it....the edit software patching blocks don't make sense in relation to the console in the new v4. I use Martix for L/R/Sub sends.... Will the matrix see the processed waves L/R or does it send it out of the xlr port before the matrix can pick up the processed signal? I have a waves setup coming next week, and will hopefully follow this more closely on the console.
@@caleconrad2332 sadly this isnt the case in this setup. The processing isnt an insert.. its happening on the physical outs 15 and 16. So if you’re sending sub out Matrix 1. it is not getting processed by LR. I just tested this by filtering out everything below 200hz on my LR processing and the Sub was still loud and proud
These are sad days.... Digital mixers in my view should be used to cut down time so that you can mix easily and be more connected to the performance side of the job. I see more and more frustrated engineers now page swapping , checking to see if their configuration/routing are correct and not enjoying or connecting with the artist they're engineering for.. The M32 requires imho the most page swap per minute of any digital mixer out there.
Why would anyone have to keep checking for routing or changing pages? I do all my stuff while in the plane or bus, load while the band is loading in, place the mics where I want it, get my sounds and then mix on DCAs. As simple as it gets.
Geez I hope the server or SuperRack never crashes. 😩 Great work around but this should be necessary on any digital console in 2022. WHY do these console makers have to make this so difficult. There are similar issues with not being able to properly ‘insert’ card ports directly on channels and busses at the insert point on Yamaha CL consoles as well. We are three generations into digital consoles and some of them still can’t get some of the basics correct. :-/.

Great job. You've successfully navigated the convoluted patching of the X32/M32 and maximized your Waves usage.
Watching this on repeat trying to wrap my mind around this tech wizardry
is there any way one can get these scenes and snapshots pls?
Love getting taught sound things by Bill Haders voice
Thank You!!👍🏻
Trying this out the mains with L3 Multimaximizer and L2 Ultramaximizer is causing a lot of delay. How do you compensate for the latency?
You just have to use a lower latency plug in. L2 / definitely L3 uses aloot of latency to process the audio
Any ideea why i am not able to hear superack on The headphones out and only on the phisical outpust mains LR?

firmware update sorted it

Inside of Routing it from Local just select your AES-50A
thanks, enlightening video
How do you set the gain on the mic pres?
Did you ever figure this out?

Good job
where can i buy that monitor you have? is it compatible with mac?

touch will not work on mac unless you run Bootcamp with windows.
get a Dell 24" touch monitor, it ships with a cable that plugs in and works on Mac.
@@caleconrad2332 I have that Dell monitor and it does not work for me on mac, what that special cable, to try again?
Thanks!!!! 🤟🏻🖖🏻🧠🧠
Can you still record channels 25-32 for multi-track recording?
you should be able to. Also you can set those Inputs how ever you want since they are technically "free".

Matrices are fed FROM your LR+Sub, so if you are processing the LR send then you should hear it.
