Phone nowdays are becoming better and better and I decided to go out to try to do some street photography with the Iphone 13 Pro. The weather was pretty damn good and played a lot with the shadows and reflections, got some candid shots as well. What do you think about the pictures ?

fantastic images from the phone. funny how most people didn't care when a phone is held out for picture taking, but when an actual camera is present they get freaked out.
Thanks mate ! :) Well they should have been freaked out, I had my gopro on the chest as well. :)
All of those photos are absolutely gorgeous. I love how you embrace strong contrast between the light and the shadows on most of those, and I especially love the fact that you chose to expose for parts of the photo that I wouldn't normally expose for (like in numbers 3, 4, and 10 especially). I'm eager to find my own fun, dramatic style for my photos but I have yet to gain the editing and grading skills to make my dream photos happen. I'd love to get a glimpse of your editing process!
Hello Ian and thanks ! :) Not all the photos are gorgeous but I will take that :). If you have a subscription to Adobe you can install lightroom to your phone. There are lots of presets and you can do some serious editing directly on the phone :)
Bro you have my respect. Appreciate your hard work. Amazing photos!
Thanks a lot Rakesh :)
You definitely can!!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Great work Octavian! Images are beautiful, especially #13. Handling the iPhone is always so tricky, I kept worrying that you would drop it!
Hehehe thanks ! Yeah I was doing my best not to drop it :). Appreciate your feedback!
you have a very good eye for this!
Thanks 🙏!
Hi Octavian. You re the living proof that the camera doesn't matter. Great photos again.
Hello Aart ! Thanks you :) appreciate it !
You have a great eye Octavian! Nice images!
Thank you very much Judy ! appreciate it :)
Hello Octavian, I Iiked all the images in this video, my favorite is #4. Gear wise well, quite impressive to see what can be done with a phone today. The waffle? Well deserved 👍
I fully agree with you, phone come a long way :). Thank you Mauro ! Cheers :)
You will have 100k subscribers soon🤘
Hope so!
Nice video and great that you using a phone this time, great shots too. As much as i like to use my cameras i also shoot a large amount on my 12ProMax and love it. Unless i take images to stitch a large panorama (don’t bother with the i build one), i process the images in Darkroom & Snapseed apps as they are great on the go especially in cafes whilst having coffee and food. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Victor and thank you ! I have installed Lightroom app on my phone and I love it. It gives so much room in terms of editing, it's crazy. It has also some nice presets ! And it's free (if I am not wrong)
@@OctavianCarare thank you, I was under the impression you need a subscription for LT CC etc. to get the mobile version free, that’s why I don’t use it as assume it works with the main subscription LT and I still use LT standalone version so it won’t work it my one. Not sure if it can be used on its own.
You are probably right :)
Hi Octavian, You can keep exposure compensation if you press the small arrow to show some extra options and then use the plus-minus-icon. To remember this over sessions and keep the indicator in the top of the camera, go to the settings app on the Home Screen, select Camera and then the option to save settings. Don’t know the English setting name because I use the Dutch version 😀 Hope this helps. Best regards, Kees (Amsterdam)
Hi Kees ! thank you for the tip ! I had no idea you can do that. I will give it a try see if it works. At a first glance seems pretty complicated :) . Bedankt !
@@OctavianCarare Yes it gets more complicated with each iteration. It’s time they add a proper ‘pro-mode’ / m-mode though. And graag gedaan Octavian :-)
Solid stuff! Some really nice shots... Tends to prove that gear is usually overrated (not trying to say one will achieve the same results with a phone as with a Leica or even a Fuji!). Comes down to skills and vision! 👏🏼🔥
Thank you Robin :) appreciate your feedback ! 🔥 well the iphone 13 pro it’s still a pretty expensive gear :)
@@OctavianCarare Depends on what part of the phone's price is allocated to the camera. They do have other features.
Hello Octavian, very nice and inspiring video ! You win the challenge, your pictures are great. My fav ones : 3/4/6/7/12. See you !
Thank you very much Jeremy ! A bientot j'espere ! :)
@@OctavianCarare quand tu veux ! Demain, je sortirai quelques heures avec mon appareil s'il ne pleut pas... let me know
great vid man !
Thank you !
Enjoyed the video! It's the third one I watched to get an idea of what my new iPhone 13 max pro could capture as an SP Camera. The other two were not SP as stated! Just urban landscape, buildings on an empty street, reflection photos, or pretty locations with no one in them. NOT SP at all, only dead lifeless photos. Your captures were exactly as I hoped, in the style, I will shoot in. Octavian may I ask what is the name of the app you chose to replace the native camera app? I don't want any auto mode when I shoot. I have a recommendation for you, try to get much closer when you photograph people. I started SP with a blk film Nikon Camera. Then went to a digital blk Nikon Camera. People notice when you point one of these at them. I started using my iPhone 5 for personal walkabouts and found no one paid attention to me as I shot with it. I hold the iPhone in position and talk to it in a normal voice as if I am showing the area to someone on the iphone. People can be a foot or two, less than a meter away and they will pay you no mind at all. Give it a try, I think you will like it!!!! Looking forward to watching more of your videos!!
I just saw video now and recognized Halide app.
Amazing video :)
Thanks 🙏
Super Images buddy.... very inspiring. You can put some grip like ulanzi cap grip and make phone ergonomics better
Thank you for the tip Kaushal. I don't know if I will keep on shooting street with the phone, I will probably use my camera but it was a pretty nice test ! :)
Do you shoote in raw ? With the native camera app ?
I shot RAW yes and used an app called Halide
You know that if you hold the shutter down, it will shoot bursts? Greater chances to align subjects in perspective/juxtaposition photos, instead of trusting the 1-shot coordination.
I was aware I can take burst shots yes but I like doing the hard work :))
Nice images, I would say if you want to keep camera settings, Go into settings, Camera, Preserve settings and tick the ones you want to keep as default.
Thanks for the tips! I will definitely try it :) . Do you know if it applies to the exposure compensation as well ?
@@OctavianCarare No the exposure comp goes back after each photo which is a pain and hopefully they'll fix that in an update
I see! That’s why I got a payed app (halide) and it keeps the exposure compensation as set after taking a picture:)
sorry if you mentioned, what third party app you installed to shoot this street photography shots?
Hi mate ! The app is called Halide
Thank you 🙏
What app did you use as the camera?
Hi Steve! Its called Halide
Hi bro. Sorry to bother you. I have a question for you. I don't live in a very rich country, but I would like to buy a camera for myself, my choice was sony a5000, because there is not enough money for a6000. I would like to find out from you possible camera options that could be bought for street photography. I will be very grateful for the answer.
The waffle was definitely well deserved. You raised up to the challenge perfectly. Another successful day of street photography and another great episode. For me the winning shot was no. 7.
A session of street photography made only with view from below and/or with view from up high would produce some very cool shots and of course some back pain 😁
Thank you Alexandru :) That's not a bad idea, I will defintely give it a try. From above seems pretty interesting but not with a drone ... I need to think about it :)
Really nice! Are you using a specific app?
thanks :) halide it's called
Some lovely pics - which app are you using please?
Hi Robin, thanks ! I use Halide .
May i know what’s the third app u use 🙏🏼 thank you
Halide :) thank you for watching
On which lense you shoot the mostly ? 0,5 and 1,0 ?
1,0
太棒了!!!
Thanks ! :)
What is your third party app please
halide
Which was the cam-app used? Thks
Halide
Thks...but, I realized that the apple-app, we can also pre-fix some parameters, like exposition. Great photos in my current city also, bxl. If we give workshops, I'm interested. Regards
Did you shoot raw ?
Yes, I did
@@OctavianCarare apple ProRaw or Normal DNG? I have also Hallide and is possible both
Normal DNG
Hi Octavian! iPhone better than Q2? :D :D: D haha
Hi Lukasz ! :) Well can you call your wife with a Q2? No you can't :))
@@OctavianCarare Who want to call wife during taking pictures!
@@LukaszFotografuje hahah true :))

Thanks 😊

good photos tho :-)
sorry. sometimes I talk too much, sometimes I don't :) need to find a balance
thanks mate !
You said you wanted a challenge… how about a box brownie with a roll of 120 film… if you can get any (or a camera). I have three of them 🥸🤣
well that's quite a challenge ! :)
