    Thanks Dean, love this sort of video where we learn something (well, where I learn something). I wonder how his Cults list would have performed at your WTC? Cheers to Ben for coming along to give this interview as well.

      Yeah I was surprised to see ZERO Cults players as Horde of any sort is typically very common in teams events as some armies just can't handle it

  • @HammerdownProtocol
    @HammerdownProtocol 7 дней назад +2

    For years, I've loved the idea of the Typhus led 'Destroyer Hive,' zombie horde, tarpit army, or the meta breaking 'Spawn Tide' army, that made waves a couple of editions ago.
    This detatchment looks like a great alternative.

    • @BlogForTheBloodGod
      @BlogForTheBloodGod  6 дней назад +2

      Early 8th edition was the best, every time a cultist dies within 3" of a poxwalker, you gain a poxwalker, then for 1CP you could remove a squad of cultists and bring it back at full strength.
      So they kill 16 or your 20, you gain 16 poxwalkers then spend 1CP to bring back the 16 cultists...... true horde lol

      A squad of nurglings is still a solid include might as well pick up a bulky beast of nurgle since you paid the battline tax anyway.

    I'm halfway through the interview, at the part where you're discussing the strategic opportunities and hindrances that flow from below starting and half strength unit status.
    Perhaps it could be a good subject for a future deep dive vid?

    Chaos Cult new meta!! Unironically it is the Detachment with highest win rate... I really love the idea of it, but I dont like the amount of models you gotta bring and move around! Good content! Keep it up!!

    • @xeticus5435

      I have played it on TTS. It is a LOT of models to move around.

    • @BlogForTheBloodGod
      @BlogForTheBloodGod  6 дней назад +2

      It's definitely not for everyone lol, I'd personally be bringing a few extra transports just so it's faster to play lol

  • @keyanklupacs6333

    I'm not sure that exactly TWO players winning with this detachment makes it broken or overpowered. Watching the event streams 40k dirtbags literially explains everything his army does they fail to respect the distance he can cover shoot at ACs they surge move then move advqnce charge and his opponents are like "*surprised pikachu face* you can DO that??" Also proper use of reserves to reduce the initial foot print to prevent losing to go second into shooting.

      I love when I post a 2hr video and within 20 minutes someone has a comment disagreeing with the 4 words in the thumbnail lol.
      Dirtbags does some fantastic content and I agree a lot of the power is in those surprise moments

      We need to keep a lid on things as CSM players, as GW seem to be A LITTLE overzealous when it comes to smacking anything and everything CSM related that can pull of a remote win with both nerfs and point-cost hikes...

    • @BlogForTheBloodGod
      @BlogForTheBloodGod  6 дней назад +1

      Gotta thread the needle between keeping our ideas off GW radar but also sharing them in our communities. I do sometimes wonder if GW have operatives in my comments section lol

    • @runeh3022
      @runeh3022 6 дней назад

      @@BlogForTheBloodGod the proof of that will likely be of World Eater Terminators end up taking a hit :-P But they do seem sort of hellbendt on CSM sort of never having any top 10 type of unit of any kind available for tje army for any worthwhile amount of time, and any more datasheet nerfs will already make struggling detachments (which are 5 og the 8 in the codex arguably) suffer even more.

    Gotta agree, lost and the damned was the coolest thing in past chaos armies.

  • @Xynth25
    @Xynth25 6 дней назад

    I knew from the start that people were going to figure out how to breaka this detachment. It's not how I personally want to play CSM, and I think it's going to get smacked in the upcoming MFM, but I'm happy to see it succeed.

    Cultist Jail is an inconsiderate army to play without a clock.

    • @BlogForTheBloodGod
      @BlogForTheBloodGod  3 дня назад +1

      As long as you are playing in good faith, which Ben does, I'm sure it is OK. But I for one think clocks should always be mandatory

    • @kosherbeefcake
      @kosherbeefcake 2 дня назад

      @@BlogForTheBloodGod Absolutely. It wasn’t my intention to call any specific person out for doing it, but they should definitely plan for someone requesting a clock in a competitive setting:

    Great interview...I have to disagree with both of you though... you start adding in narrative things and it COMPLETELY changes the dynamic of the event and in turn makes it less competitive in nature as its not balanced for everyone...still well done with the win

    Admitting to being wrong about this would be far more impactful if 98% of players didn't look at this detachment and think it was crap.
    I'm more interested in the psychopaths that read the codex previews and thought it was playable in a tournament setting.

    • @keyanklupacs6333
      @keyanklupacs6333 6 дней назад +5

      Doesn't matter if it's competitive at all - I finally have rules to play lost and the damned and I'm going to get this force built up regardless of how good or bad it is. I have begged ever since we lost our lost and the damned rules from the eye of terror codex for a proper "traitors / chaos mortals" ruleset that isn't the H&R FW line. I'm OBLIGATED play this since I've finally been given exactly what I wanted.

    • @BlogForTheBloodGod
      @BlogForTheBloodGod  6 дней назад

      That's the point, 98% of players, including myself thought it was crap, we were all wrong
