- Gorillaz brought out the big guns at Printworks London when they performed "We Got The Power". It was a performance to remember as they were joined on stage by Noel Gallagher, Jean-Michel Jarre and Savages lead vocalist Jehnny Beth - a definite highlight from the new album "Humanz".

I guess we all get to a point when music sounds good/ bad to us.... my opinion, this song is very motivating. The message it sends, with everything going on in the world, it makes me feel like there's no fucking hope. We are the hope.... and we are lost with propaganda and agendas. I like the song now hearing it live. I didn't like the album one because of it being overproduced but know most think the opposite.

Why do all of these live performances feel so stale? Love the songs but something about this live Telekom stuff just doesn't work. At least they actually had Jenny Beth there and not a recording which helped with the energy.

It's a bit surreal seeing Noel and Damon on stage together.

@@guido7095 damn, this shit was 3 years ago. Because back in the late 90's early 00's Noel and his brother's band Oasis used to be rather nasty towards other britpop bands at the time because they were full of themselves and they were at times particularly nasty towards Damon's band blur. Its just odd because they used to not really get on and now they're sharinv the same stage.

it's just the acoustics. sounds are different in large theaters and the open air than they are in those small soundproofed studio rooms. every single band sounds different live and slightly less vibrant. that's how sound works. at when perceived by the human ear.
markponicki yeah, I know. It also doesn't help that I'm watching this on RUclips either. Live versions of songs always sound weird on video. But still, there are bands out there that even if they're live and they don't have that studio vibe they can still make you want to jump up and down and shout the lyrics at the top of your lungs. I could just casually sing along to this.
Glimpses of the energy the studio recording has, shame it didn't carry throughout the song. More of the bright percussion please!
Compared to other Gorillaz concerts, I am honestly extremely disappointed. Some of the performances are alright (like saturnz bars) but others just lack energy and are extremely boring to watch.
AS MUCH AS I LOVE GORILLAZ, i really am disappointed with their live performances, but that doesn't stop me from loving them as they made their great music...GREAT!
