Hello Greg this is Marcello Thanks Greg after so many years that I am doing this still by watching your video I learn something new .You always inspire me with my big wheel . By the way still at the age of 70 I am riding your 54" superior highwheel .That was one of the best things that ever happened in my life. THANK YOU GREG
Hey Marcello, So glad I was able to help you out over the years and have a positive impact on your life as well. That's a pretty big thing. Appreciated.
Apparently I forgot to include the rubber length needed for the tires. Tire overlap is important. For large wheels you can estimate a circumference plus 10% length for the tire rubber. For smaller wheels that is reduced. On a 18" wheel I use about 5% additional material or a hands width of over lap. Greg BarronRBR Inc
Thanks, glad you like the video. I try to help where I can. WD40 is a light lube that will both absorb into the material and eventually just evaporate. It's a good choice for the material I use for tires. You can also use a silicone base lube like commercial tire shine products but those don't evaporate.
I can't say for certain, but I thought Greg (RBR) uses a neoprene tire, which is a synthetic rubber-like material, rather than a natural rubber. Even if WD-40 reacts badly with actual rubber, apparently it coexists nicely with neoprene.
Well, if I understand you correctly, you are asking if I sell the tire material? Yes, I do sell it. Please email me about a purchase. I do all my ordering either by email or over the phone. I want to be sure you get the correct parts. info@hiwheel.com
Yes, I cut them to size and wire them prior to installation or shipping. We have stock measurements that we have used for 53 years that we know fit our wheel sizes and cut tires to that. Should you want to buy tire by the foot and cut and fit them on your own, you are welcome to do that.
Beautiful work, I accompany your videos and I'm following in your footsteps in building two Pennies Farthing 50 "and 52" in Brazil, I need the red or cream tires, would you sell me? enter my facebook I have several photos there already thanks!
I'm glad you like it. Nice to hear you are building your own bike too. I currently have both red and white rubber in 7/8". That's the most common tire size for hiwheel bikes. You can send me an email to info@hiwheel.com

I use 2" for every 10" of diameter of wheel. A 50" wheel will have a 10" overlap. An 18" wheel will have about 2" of overlap.
very cool, thanks for showing this
Glad you liked it and I hope it helps.
Very interesting.
sir,is the material for the bicycle tire from a rubber speargun with the size of 3*20 mm?
3 things:
1.-Beautiful Job
2.-Very nice on your part sharing the know how. Others would have just protected niche
3.-Doesnt WD40 damage the rubber?

Your tires are pre cut , you are not showing how to cut the size on the tubing before installation.
