Driver's Therapy can you maybe give me a link to what exact material is best to study? I tried my A5 test and failed. There are many questions with electrical diagrams and outlines of certain brake parts. I can't seem to find any info that relates to what exactly is on the test. Any help would be much appreciated!
@@jeffreymeeks4051 hello! If you email I can try to send you some links, we also have our own schematic video on our website for a fee and a free multimeter course.
I've just come across this video series and I am very thankful for what you have done. I wasn't sure how to start on my way towards getting my ASE certifications. I was looking for a way to make my auto repair business a better service for my customers. Growing up working on cars I gathered a lot of knowledge but being in Vermont certifications are not necessary to operate. I've been in business for 2.5 years and I'm going to start with the a5 test. Thanks for the inspiration!
Awesome! Happy you found us. I want to help you out, reach out to me on Instagram (drivers therapy) and I will give you our brake course for free. If you have any questions let me know. Make sure to get your Motorage book. They are better than the Delmar book.
'Grats on the pass! Definitely some interesting insights as well. I feel like people with aviation tech experience, and submariners for that matter, are folks I don't mind working on my car. Lots more attention to detail driven by potentially falling out of the sky or imploding if you don't torque the thing to-spec.
Goood advice my dude. Congratz on the pass (2yrs ago). I just finished a semester at community college and have 0 auto certs, to looking to get my 1st one done. Not doing my A5 yet. I have gone through my college book and make some notes on symptoms ect. I'll definitely look at tube videos on the systems indepth. My course was only 4 months, it gave the theory of all the parts, but the way the practice tests are worded you have to really know your stuff, I think I got a 40% on 1st go. So obviously i need to study waaaay more and as you mentioned "know how the machines work", know the parts and how they function and what they're supposed to do. I'll be buying tons of test simulations in the future, test prep ect. Since the ASE centers are like NSA, I'd rather KNOW my stuff so the anxiety of the system doesn't make me forgoet 30%, haha. Great video, thanks for the advice. I hope by now (yrs later) you've accomplished more ASE certs. I've been an auto enthusiast for yrs(2-4). I'm acutally into the electrical field more than automotive. I took auto A5 class because i literally had NO CLUE how the brakes worked (besides stopping a vehicle). So that's why i took my 1st class in college. I'm way more electrical inclined. So the electrical will come easier to me. I did apply for some auto industry jobs, but haven't landed anything yet. Certs help knock that door down. Would love to be albe to say i have 2-3 certs under my belt for future. End goal (5+ yrs) would be, to be a master ase/electrican. We gotta have dreams. Keep moving forward. Sharks always swim forward. Only look back to learn a lesson or two. Thanks again!
Hi! Thank you for your comment. I appreciate you sharing what is going on and some goals you have. Yes, I passed some tests, in fact I passed all of them and I am a Master Tech now. We even offer our own courses now on top of the videos on RUclips to help people out. I’m excited to hear from fellow technicians and students about their journeys and how they are working on their certifications. My goals is to help you guys pass. If you follow my instructions and buy the study guides and the official ASE practice tests for each sections, you will pass. Also, consider looking at our courses through our website driverstherapy.com . We have a great brake course. Take it slow and one test at a time and you will get there. There is a personal satisfaction in studying and passing a test so don’t give up and let me know if you need help. Hahah and yes sharks always moving forward. I like that saying. 🤘🏽🙂😎
No!!!! I failed it a few times myself. I know but you will pass it. Try to write down what you saw and remember about the test. Also, make sure to buy the official ASE practice test.
I have heard that the Motor Age books are good. The Delmar books are good, they do have quite a bit of errors that annoying but the topics and question are pretty accurate as far as what you need to learn. I use it as a reference to go look into those topics more.
Do you work for a dealer. They may have some study guides that may help in the service websight. I work for Nissan and they have study guides for techs.
Hey buddy do you have any tips for the electrical diagram questions on open and closed circuits.some of those questions were very confusing on the test . Please help me buddy!
Yes, please check out my A6 study tips video: ruclips.net/video/9BvJJF80cFI/видео.html If, that does not help, let me know and I will try to provide some more links.

Taking my next month…but sir where can I buy that r34 model on your desk !?!?
Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions or need help preparing. And the R34 model is a AUTOArt Z-Tune R34 model. I picked it up on eBay.

Yes and no. Some are but they are worded differently. The main thing the practice tests do is show you where you need to study and research more on.
