I know I'm not the only person who sometimes forgets that Tatiana plays all the clones. Her acting for all of them is so different, even the voices differ so I'm constantly thinking it's different people playing the characters when in reality it's all Tatiana. That is an extremely amazing talent, and she deserves so much credit for the work that she does. I couldn't imagine anyone else playing this role as well as her. My favourite clones are Alison and Cosima, and of course everyone love Felix, how could you not lol.
She was good in She-Hulk, but the script was weak and not on her level of talent and acting. Tatiana is a phenomenal actress. Does she have other projects that are worth watching? Also, is Rachel the Primary that all of the other clones came from?
At the SDCC panel, Tatiana mentioned that Cosima talks with her hands because internally, she's always trying to communicate her ideas to everyone else as clearly as she can. Now re-watch this video: just thinking about Cosima gets her hands moving. It's just all so natural to her to get into a character's head and bring their psyche out into the world through their mannerisms. Effortless. She's amazing. And so is this show! I love it!
The only other actor that I know that could play multiple characters is Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries. She didn't play as many characters, 4, and only focused on two. I loved how Nina Dobrev played Katherine Pierce, Katerina was an awesome character. I was annoyed with Elena Gilbert . She was less annoying when she became a Vampire. I think Catherine Pierce was my fav character tho. Man, Canadian actors got playing multiple characters down.
Tatiana is an absolute gem. She is such a phenomenal actress, one of the few who actually makes me feel something whenever she's on screen. Just look at her playing Sarah at 1:30, waiting for Kira to get out of school. The excitement, the anticipation, the guilt, the fear - you can see it all on her face, in her body language, and she makes it look completely effortless. A truly singular talent.
There's a real passion and brilliance to her smile when she sees Kira. Sarah is so closed down and hard focused on all her shit and battles, within and without that it's stunning when it all disappears in the glow of that smile and her love for Kira. Well played and moving.

I actually have a theory that the reason Sarah was so angry growing up was because she was separated from her twin. (In addition to the fact that she didn't have any "real" family.) Some twins have this connection that no one else can understand. And not only were they separated, but Helena was going through so much throughout her life.

Going off your comment, I formed the theory of Sarah having this strong feeling of something (someone) missing, tho she doesn't understand it of course, so the frustration just builds and builds. And with the scene of her holding the gun to Helena, that made your comment and my kind of idea even more big for me, like Sarah knows shes dangerous and wants to shoot her, but this sense of humanity and connection is there, as Helena kept expressing to her. they actually tell us the reason she's angry is because she doesn't know her real parents and doesn't understand why her parents didn't want her - a common feeling among abandoned children
Orphan Black was just the best series i watched so far , and i watched a lot. This series has just everything , from action to love. I think that makes it so special because it isn't just only one genre. I never get bored because there were so many things who keep you to asking why all these things happened and i saw myself watching like 10 episodes after the other xD I have to say that Tatiana Maslany did an unbelievable job ! Honestly ,sometimes i forgot that all these clones were played by just one actress. I really love all of the clones. Everyone has an amzing personality .... ok except Rachel xD . But i just loved Cosima i don't why but i can't identify myself with her really well. I'm very excited about the new Season 5. It just can be amazing !

It goes deeper than exploring the outcomes of a bunch of girls with the same genetics. Cloning basically says people are products like crops; despensible and replaceable and therein lies the melancholy of this series. It also reminds me how much our species has lost its charm. We are so charmless that we've traded society in for inanimate objects to comfort ourselves. Virtual reality, gaming, sex toys, Mannequins. Our existence is a joke with no punchline.

Idk, one of my favorite scenes ever of this show, was when sarah tried to go into the bank as beth and withdrawal grom her accounts. Tatiana did amazing in every episode and scene in this show, but one of the first scenes that made me realize how amazing she is as an actress was that scene. You see her, pretending to be a british girl, pretending to be an american girl and i found every luttle detail in that to be so cool to see. Still sad that the show ended...
She looks so young she's almost unconvincing as the cop and the soccer mom, but the actor is 28 years old and just petite so that was my mistake. She really did a great job with what she had to work with physically. PS: That said, you said the real Cosima was your science advisor, did she not tell you that twins (and clones) do not have identical fingerprints?
I know this is an old comment, but I thought the same thing too! I actually googled it while I was watching the show haha. I found one thing that said that the fingerprints of twins and clones might be the same if they were incubated outside of a womb environment, but if they are in a womb then the fingerprints change because of water pressure and other stuff. It's interesting, but maybe they took some liberties scientifically because we still don't know much about how these clones were created.
There are some similarities. But they have different concepts so I wouldn't compare the two too much. Dollhouse had a different agenda, the dolls weren't clones but products of brainwashing and they were used not for experimentation but for income. So that's very different. But I do think Orphan Black has much better characterization, a stronger lead, and more daring plot points. So, essentially, yes it is a better version in many ways.
I swear, I will be so disapointed if this turns out to be Just Sarah Manning having some sort of psychotic break and/or multiple personalities disorder.
