From listeners that he has since his beginnings to new fans before or after his death, I'm sure no doubt that he appreciates his audience and that his music will live on forever. I felt the same way you felt when I start listening to 2pac, he died when I was just about 8 or 9 years old, so I wasn’t able to experience his music and life as an artist and actor back in the 90s. So I appreciated who he was as I got older. DMX hit me harder, because I grew up listening to X when I was a teenager in the early 2000s, so I had to backtrack to his earlier albums and when I did, I loved DMX even more. When he began to be inconsistent during his music career and dripping albums not as great as his earlier ones, I lost interest and just bumped his previous records. Any new material he did, I'd give it a shot, but by the most part, I moved on to other artists heavy in the rap game at the time. Heading in the 2010s+ rap music just wasn't the same for me anymore and just had to keep up with what the artists I originally listened to were doing while trying to figure out my musical tastes. Years later down the line, we lose X and I was nearly in tears as well, because there hasn't been a solid album from X in years and I was looking forward to the future of DMX and Ruff Ryders, especially after their recent documentary that aired in 2020. I thought DMX was going to drop am album afterwards, but we lost him. He will be missed, but I feel you on all points man, stay strong and take care.
