I also owe my great admiration for Theodore Roosevelt to having read Edmund Morris's trilogy about Theodore Roosevelt. Until then I truly didn't care for him. Thank you Mr. Morris for you writings.

Sadly, Edmund Morris died this past May. As brilliant and literary as his books on TR are, it's his wit that made his interviews sparkle.

Thanks for that note. I hadn't heard about his stroke and death. Very sad. His Booknotes and QandA sessions with Brian Lamb on CSPAN are must-watching.

It was heartwarming to learn that the last seven words of the last of Morris’s books was a quote from an essay written in 1922 by a schoolboy named Thomas Maher, the father of
My classmate Brian Maher- Providence College 1968.

Teddy was an amazing man...all over the place. Vidal's piece about him is very good...and in the end of the day, his last presidential run ...;well, if he had won...

The interviewer sounds identical to Steve jobs. Wow that's scary.

I get the feeling that Mr. Morris is not very fond of Eleanor Roosevelt.

It's more a matter of relevance than antipathy.

TR was the one Roosevelt worth it and even this anti-German policy made zero sense. Everything else he hit home runs on.

One caveat: This a celebration of white culture in America. Okay , then, on with the show
