I recall reading somewhere that Maurice suggested to the producers of the show to give Steve a darker storyline. He said that Steve was too talented to be some boring, goody two shoes doctor. Good call, Maurice.
What a shame Jason never got the chance to try to go back to school before their stupidity drove him away. Another possible solution was for him to have gone to a rehabilitation center before going home. Not a hospital, but one that allowed more freedom and real challenges provided by normal people.At home he was too much on his own, with no goals but physical rehabilitation. If he had put in the kind of work on other areas of rehabilitation that he did the physical, no telling what he could have achieved. But he needed professional guidance for that.

When you look back on these scenes, you see exactly the reason why Jason left the Qs and became so connected to Sonny. Sonny was one of the few people who didn't treat him like he was an idiot who couldn't think or do things, was one of the few people who treated him like an actual human being. For Jason who needed that support, it's no wonder that he gravitated towards Sonny and stayed by Sonny's side through thick or thin, because when Jason was at his most vulnerable, it was Sonny who provided him with stability and trust.
Captain Pike-a-chu.......you are so very right......people condemn him but Sonny treated him with more respect than most of his family.......I agreed with him turning his back on them because they had no understanding.

Some of the best stories in the last 20 years on GH centered around Jason. The accident and the rebuilding of an entire personality was great. And I think the recent return and twin storyline was brilliant. Like a combined science fiction, adventure story, and mystery all rolled into one. Let’s hope they can provide him with some good storylines in the future but please, something upbeat with some humor. He doesn’t have to be the tragic hero any longer.
If the soap net wants more viewers they should upload all past episodes to like Hulu or make their own. Either way, I would pay to be able to watch all seasons of GH! At least starting around this time, when Jason lost his memory.
What the hell were the Quartermaines thinking by having the police pick Jason? Then the way Edward talked to Jason like he was a child. Now I understand that fans did not like how Jason joined the mob, but how Alan, Monica, and how Edward treated Jason it is no wonder that he turned to Sonny. It wasn’t Sonny that made Jason who he was. Sonny just treated him like a person and him a job. It was the AJ who started it the rest of the family with the exception of Emily, Ned and Lila put the final nail in Jason Quartermaine.
I wasn't watching at this time. It's interesting to see how Jason became a totally different person than the young man the Quartermaines raised. I'm enjoying getting all this background. Thank you for sharing these videos! Wish I had found you a long time ago!
