I carry cheap little cutco on me every day. I have a few excellent knives for hunting, and a few I inherited from my grandfathers; but I have been looking at getting a nice edc blade to replace my cutco. Something in the Benchmade mini Bugout range of size, 40g/1.5pz or lighter and around 6.5” That Hizen is gorgeous. I will definitely check the company out. Also, I keep waffling on what size I really want to carry. I really think I need two to choose from based on my schedule or tasks. One smaller and one like this range of 7” overall.
The Rockstead will satisfy the most difficult cutting challenge because of its hardness. Don’t be timid, as this video implies. However, do not pry because of the brittle hardness. Use to cut, not pry.
such a shame they're not doing their "honzokuri" grind on the Hizen :( it's one of the few, if not only, folders they sell with a flat bevel. it's gorgeous, but the Higo offers so many more variants to choose from plus it has that more interesting grind (and edge)... but it's too big :/ hopefully, one day....
I come for the watches, but love knives too. What a gorgeous knife! I've lusted after a Rockstead for years now. Chris Reeve = Rolex & Rockstead = Grand Seiko is brilliant! This isn't quite as exacting, but how about: Benchmade = Tudor? Spyderco = Omega? WE = Seiko? Kizer = Orient? Haha! I could play this game all day LOL. Thanks for sharing this amazing knife!
That is a nice looking knife!

I have a few bugouts and love them. I modded two of them and I don't think I ever made videos, I probably should at some point, lol
@@AverageBros I would love to see your Bugouts. Also, Congrats on the double pickup of this knife and your Grand Seiko!
@@cityslacker6221 thanks, the GS inspired me to finally pull the trigger on the Rockstead

I edc this exact model. The Rockwell Hardness is so high it’s near invincible when used properly.
Is the Hizen about the same OAL as the Small Sebenza 31?
Yeah, similar size for sure

I like, this could be a whole new segment in itself, lol
The Hizen is the smallest Rocksteak knife which makes a great gentleman pocket knife.
