Australians missing out on billions in gas royalties each year | The Business | ABC News

Unlike onshore mineral exporters, some offshore gas producers aren't required to pay royalties.
A report by the independent think tank 'The Australia Institute' says that means Australians are missing out on billions in royalties each year, with more than half of the gas exported royalty-free.
Executive director at the Australia Institute Richard Denniss says last year those exports were valued at $149 billion.
