It is called the stem of the pipe. Thanks for slowing down a bit. One thing which has often confused me is lines which one may not want to be seen as in the bowl of the pipe. Is there any way to hide these lines, so as in this drawing the bowl appears to be one solid piece?

      Hi
I checked on internet it is called Cigar Pipe, Smoking Pipe, I did not see The stem of the pipe but good to know. 😁
If you dont wanna see that lines you need to model whole group in one time.
Easy way for you; model like how I modelled than convert all outer edges into curves and use loft for whole body then you wont see any line.
But loft and revolve have differences to make a loft instead of a revolve you need more extra curves.

Hi Dear, thanks for nice comment.
Before I have used Grabcad for inspiration. But nowadays I pick objects on my hand, measure them and model.
Even sometimes I just model without any material.

Only a thing, the first two guide lines have to be tangents to surface and you will avoid errors when both joined

Dear, I am using Solidworks for 20 years, Solidworks is not only used to design parts for CNC machining.
This is a 3D Modeling program, so you can design everything there, also there are alot of different production methods in the world not only CNC !

There are a lot of people who watching these videos to improve their skills in program. Mostly I am designing parts with complex operations to demonstrate to users of Solidworks what is the capabilities of program.
People learning surfacing and advanced modeling via these videos, that is the reason.
