Hi, This is the standard shuffle that is used *between hands* of poker. You should wash the cards when you bring a new deck into the game, but after that, you should probably only wash the cards every half hour to an hour.

the cut card is also to prevent bottom dealing.

The cut card prevents the bottom card in the deck from being seen by anyone.
