I have traveled out of Detroit Metro around 20-30 times and have never experienced a single problem. Everybody is very courteous and helpful, many places to eat and very clean. Beautiful airport!!!
I used to live in MI now I live in Japan but man i srsly miss this airport idk why but it makes me feel relaxed(?) and i havent been to foreign countries (from japan) so i really like watching videos of airplane reviews and airports.
Detroit International Airport is the best airport in the Midwest, IMO. Huge, very open, modern, easy layout, tons of options for food, not too many delays, and not overly crowded. Unfortunately I'm forced to travel through O'Hare when I fly most of the time. Sometimes I've contemplated driving a couple hours to Detroit just to fly out of here, it's so nice.
I been here 40 times, the airport has tons of cafes, it also has a hotel for anyone who arrived from a long flight. The airport is not littered. Transportation: 10/10 Food: 9/10 Service 89/100
I just watched you other video on Dulles. The flight we will be coming back on will either go to Detroit or Atlanta. I am finding your video's very helpful!
You are absolutely correct B and C are for the smaller cities (and smaller planes as well) Very nice video how long was your layover? You went everywhere in A.
2 minutes from one end to the center station stop and then another 2 minutes from the center station stop to the other end... There are two trains, one for the south portion of concourse A and one for the north portion of concourse A... They arrive quickly and move quickly... In all, about 5 minutes it will take you end to end, or one mile...
You need to learn how to edit better. It was really choppy, didn't get to read things long enough and some shots seemed in complete and I can tell when you end the recording.
Thanks for the constructive comment. I try to limit the clips to 3 or 4 seconds so that I can show lots of different views of the airport in a reasonable span of time. Many viewers share your opinion about the caption length so I'm changing the default length to 4 or 5 seconds instead of 3. I limit the captions so that they don't get too much in the way of the airport. The sound the camera makes when I end the recording is annoying but I generally leave it in because it doesn't hurt the footage itself.
KBurchfiel Well thank you for not taking it as offensive haha. But the caption defiantly needed to be long, I couldn't read them entirely every time and maybe add some transitions. But defiantly got some good shots of the terminal.
crarazy It wasn't offensive at all, I appreciate your sharing your input. I know the clips I take are pretty short, but if I have to choose between getting 30 3 second clips and 10 9 second clips, I'll do the former because then there's more variety. But you're right about the captions, I need to make those longer.
LMAO... I can't stop laughing... Detroit's L.C. Smith and Davey Terminal's were the worst in the country!!! Because of Norhtwest's World Gateway hub DTW went from the worst large airport in the country to probably the best in 2002...
An airport needs to offer quality service, things have be done quickly and with great care, people who are bored need to be entertained and business people need the facilities that they require. All this is however lacking on most American airports. . Visit worldairportawards.com Understand that these are officially recognized awards and that the rankings are based on the opinions of travelers. Also keep in mind that the US has like 15,000 airports ( in comparison, Germany has like 450). Notice that the best American airpoirt on that list has rank #40... what does that tell you? Detroit is ranked #79. It doesn't even appear in the top 10 of best airports of North-America. Trust me, I've been on airports like Schiphol Amsterdam (Ranked #3 and 13th largest airport in the world) and it's light years ahead of any American airport.
MMorel Yep, I've been to AMS too. It's a great airport. DTW has an elegant design, a train system across the terminal, and lots of lovely Delta widebodies. I firmly believe it's one of the nicest US airports.
KBurchfiel Nobody will argue that the new terminals look excellent, but looks play a minor role in the overall experience of passengers and c'mon hey...they certainly don't care about which planes are parked outside. No, what makes a good airport relies on TONS of things. How well are you treated by the people who work there, how long are the waiting times during check-in, how is the shopping experience, how well do they handle luggage, how is the food, how is transport in and around the airport, how are the services, how are the prices, how is the quality of the hotels, how clean are the bathrooms, how well is the traveler informed, how are the delays, how is parking, etc, etc. There are so many things going on inside and around an airport, that you can't just focus on looks or a train system like you do. When I say that it's one the worst airports that I know, then I base that on those things and the 12 million people who ranked the airports seem to agree. Detroit Airport is the 32nd largest airport in the world, but if you're ranked by passengers as number #79 in the world, then you're doing something seriously wrong!
MMorel Your insights are certainly valid, and I appreciate your sharing your concerns in detail. Do consider this, though: the larger an airport becomes, the more difficult it is for them to provide some of the things you list (fast check-in, luggage handling, delays, etc.). So it doesn't necessarily surprise me that Detroit, a very busy airport, is ranked lower than its passenger travel rank.

this place has a spot in my heart, as a kid in the early 2010s i used to travel all the time, now being moved away for 8 years i miss it

VeXeR ShObOx and Grand Rapids too
I was at this Airport two weeks ago, it was a really good experience, I like the atmosphere there.
I stopped here on a 4 hour layover to Ukraine. Love this airport!!! Easy to find your way around.
whenever i travel from asia to eastern usa and vis a vis, always had a stopover here, always looking forward to it.
I been here 40 times, the airport has tons of cafes, it also has a hotel for anyone who arrived from a long flight. The airport is not littered. Transportation: 10/10 Food: 9/10 Service 89/100
That was one of the best reviews I have ever watched. Great work. Thank you.
Going soon to depart to Orlando, this airport is sooo nostalgic :D

Thanks!
That was a really good tour. Nicely done.
Love it! My home airport!
This was fun to watch. I heard that the world's largest indoor parking garage is or was at this airport
Good video of a great airport
Great vid! I will be visiting DTW on a stop over July 1st, looking forward to seeing the train and that amazing fountain!
Great video, awesome airport!
DTW is indeed an awesome airport! Thanks for watching.
Going tomorrow because im going to mexico it will be great love the airport!
This is ONE terminal with THREE concourses. There is a second terminal (North/Evans) at DTW.
Nice video but the text was difficult to see because it was switched way too fast
I live 30 mins away from dtw and in a week im going to fort lauderdale
Fun video. Subscribed
I’m going to Florida tomorrow so I get to take off from here
Yeet
Did u see the birds? Lol that airport is crawling with them. They hide in the ceiling.
Beautiful, but the undertitles are too short...I had to stop several times. Maybe You could reload it...because the info is interesting!
It was broken when I went to Florida at spring break.
You are absolutely correct B and C are for the smaller cities (and smaller planes as well) Very nice video how long was your layover? You went everywhere in A.
It was a very short layover -- I wish I could have been there longer so I could see more of this gorgeous airport!
Good video! Loveit :)
Cool place
Nice airport Detroit
where is the zone rent car in this airport?
How long does it take to get from one end of the terminal to the other on the Express tram?
2 minutes from one end to the center station stop and then another 2 minutes from the center station stop to the other end... There are two trains, one for the south portion of concourse A and one for the north portion of concourse A... They arrive quickly and move quickly... It’s a mile walk end to end without tram, but there are moving walks throughout.
i work at the northterminal were spirit is and all of them i work for iss i clean the airport
i have never been to the MCnamara terminal
Another airport video that races through the terminal. Reminds me of how Americans go on the "See 10 European countries in 7 days" trips.
What do you want? A documentary?
Nicer than the entire city of Detroit lol
Detroit Metro Airport is actually located in Romulus.
Oh man I'm going there on a solo flight at 13 because it's cheap
It’s the 17 th

This airport is just as reliable as the new President! =)
If the airport looks nice like that how come Detroit looks like a third world country???
The airport isn't in Detroit, it's in Romulus which is about a 20 drive from downtown Detroit
Was in that terminal in 2012 and did not like it, I'm from Detroit and it sure is not the airport it used to be, so impersonal now.
LMAO... I can't stop laughing... Detroit's L.C. Smith and Davey Terminal's were the worst in the country!!! Because of Norhtwest's World Gateway hub DTW went from the worst large airport in the country to probably the best in 2002...

In what way? I think it's one of the nicest airports in the US.
