My favorite part is the last minute or so, watching the needles do their job. Thanks for the close-up shots! (By the way, I have named that arm that holds the needles, the 'Klondike Bar'!) I used to hobby farm with an IH 45 baler and an MM 335 tractor about 40 years ago. She didn't work quite as well as this one!
Thank you. It's a joy and pleasure to see the older machinery at work, makes me appreciate the new gear more. Must admit I've never seen a minneapolis moline in person, as I don't think they ever made it to New Zealand. But again thank you very much 😊
Nice job . I baled hay in an ancient life (french Alps). Compared to old materials the speed of the knotting seems magical . What is the purpose of the fan coller on the top of the baler ? Thanks by advance for an answer.
The fan blows air over the knotter to keep it clean. The fan is also reverseable to self cleaning build up of debris. Works excellent in harsh straw conditions.
@@phillipwatson5624 OK . Thanks for the explanation. We were cleaning the knotters one time or two by a season of hay (With diesel or gasoline) and greasing it at the same time . There was a big ball of dust mixed to the grease but it worked not so bad .
these balers work very good, i have a 4590 hess and perfect bales but he's seen some use. i'd sure take a 1840 but i'll pass on the stupid light bar. i can just see me running into it steady. come on hesston is that the best you can do?
