Visiting the Witch Trials Memorial in Salem, Massachusetts 🧙🏻‍♀️

Salem, Massachusetts has become a popular place to celebrate the Halloween season and its ties to witchcraft come from its past. Salem is best known as the site of the 1692 witch trials in which nearly 200 people were accused of witchcraft. 20 of those accused were tried and executed and there’s now a Witch Trials Memorial in downtown Salem to pay tribute to their memory. There are 20 stones with the names, dates, and methods of execution of the victims. These individuals were victims of fear and a court system that failed to protect them. Walking around the memorial, you will find flowers and personal notes reminding you of the tragic injustice citizens in Salem faced.
